Panel possibly a 22" 16:9 LG E-IPS?

Any one with any information on this one? Maybe it's the US version of the NEC MultiSync EA231WMi...

Honestly, don't think that NEC would ever sell quality IPS screen for that price.

Well E-IPS isn't expensive as the 2209WA was selling for around $200 for the same size. Ya I noticed the 24WMCX maybe false viewing angles on Nec's part to maintain their quality image. I guess I can only hope.

Maybe someone owns one here?

Any time you see CR>5 (at contrast ratio of 5:1), that means TN panel. Viewing angle specs are normally described at 10:1.

At this time, all 1920x1080 monitors are TN. If there were a non-TN 1920x1080 monitor, there would be a mega-thread for it here already. Hell, there's threads starting up just to agitate LG for one. Nearest thing to reality is a rumor that a C-PVA 1920x1080 might be released in Europe only.

Samsung F2380 is available in stores right now. Man, that thing dropped off everyone's radar real fast. Guess it's for the best...

Well at $309 it's a bit pricey for the size. And the image performance did not impress compared to even a less expensive Dell 2209WA.

Thanks Toasty, about the Contrast ratio 5:1 tip was simply going on the 178 viewing angles and Nec's past IPS LCDs. If only the Samsung F2380 was an IPS (likely never gonna happen) it would of been sweet.

Also received conformation from Nec today:

The V221W uses a TN panel.

So it looks like Hard Forum members are dead right (as usual) on this one.
