Okay so I recently was upgraded from SLI 8800GTX 768mb OC cards to SLI 9800GTX 1gb OC+ cards. Story can be found here: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1426248&page=3

I now also have a GTX 260 896mb OC card that was given to me that I am not sure what to do with.
My MB is set up like this:
PCIe 16X

PCIe 8x

PCIe 16X

My 2x9800's are in the 16X slots and I was wondering 2 things...
1) Is this GTX 260 896mb OC card better then my 2 9800GTX 1024mb OC+ in SLI?
2) Since the card is a 260GTX I know I can't run TRI SLI, would it be best to just use the GTX 260 OC card as a Physx card in the 8X slot?

My rig is in the sig.
Any help would be awesome, thanks.

1) No, except in the cases where the game you're playing doesn't scale well with SLI.
2) No. Send it to me :)

Seriously though, the GTX 260 would definitely be a great PhysX card, so if you intend to play the games that take advantage of PhysX, go ahead and do it. Still, I think I would sell those two 9800 GTX and use the money to get a second GTX 260 to SLI. Two GTX 260's in SLI would provide a much better and smoother experience in games, especially at higher resolutions and quality settings.

Again, like in another thread I just visited, I have to wonder that you power supply can handle 3 video cards and an Over-clocked CPU?? Yeah I'm sure it can handle two 9800GTX in SLI. But you need figure out how many Watts that 260 will draw, or something will have to try and "get by" with less power than it needs (which normally precipitates hardware failure).

My PSU is 850 watts and hardly being used to full capacity, I'm sure my 70A 12volt rail can handle it.

What I want to know is if it would be useful as a PhysX card?

Well, it would be useful as a Physics card, but you'd be better of selling it and spending like 50 bux on a 9600 / 8800 for Physics, it's overkill for Physics right now.

How do I go about adding this GTX 260 card to my set-up so that it will work with my other cards?
Do I need to get a 3 way connector?
Or does adding it to the 8X PCIe slot all it take.
I want to toss it in as a PhysX card, but am not sure what I need to do to make it work that way.

I would have to agree here, sounds like a good choice.
