The number 1 folding team in the world should pass the 2 Billion mark sometime tomorrow  the 2nd Billion was definetly faster than the first thanks to the new GPU client. With that brings new challenges though. Several teams have stepped up there production to rival the [H]orde, but only time will tell if any can surpass us. fold on and fold [H]ard for a cure. :)

2 billion is a lot of work that everyone here has produced for this project over the years. Just a little bit more and we will be there.....

Wow  Two BILLION pernts, not too shabby :p Nice goin' there boys and girls of the World's numero uno folding team, the mighty [H]orde team 33

wow ..that's just crazy .... lot of guys out there had to climb the ladder the hard way on the backs of lots of CPU's crunching away .. FLECOM being the top dog in that regards. The new wave of GPU clients is making lite work of these WU's now .Go Team 33!!

Every couple of years either a new hardware is released that makes everything that came before it pale in comparison, or a new client with WUs that are worth far more than previous releases. We saw a similar jump in acceleration when the SMP client was released a while back, but that was still CPU based. In one year, the nVidia client has revolutionized this DC project and I doubt CPUs will take the limelight again.

Congrats to everyone!

if they actually made the points per WU correct.. to where the cpu clients are worth more like they should be.. then the CPU would take the limelight again.. but the problem is that panda group completely fails when it comes to setting up the points correctly.. but really what do you expect.. theres so much useless politics involved between panda group, nvidia, intel, amd, and ati.. that we will never get the real answer nor the points setup correctly..

in my opinion the gpu clients should be getting far less PPD then the cpu clients.. not only does the cpu clients take longer.. but the WU's are much larger then the gpu clients.. then you look at the mess between ATI and nvidia.. neither of them even run the same WU's.. the ATI client gets stuck with the WU's that run like crap on the nvidia card.. its just political bullshit in my opinion.. its just to damn obvious that nvidia is paying their way into F@H to make their cards look better.. sure you can call me a conspiricy theorist.. but just look at the numbers and the WU's being run on nvidia cards and ATI cards.. ATI cards should be smoking the hell out of the nvidia cards.. yet they arent.. and it has nothing to do with nvidia using cuda and ATI not using cuda.. it has everything to do with the optimization of the client and WU's.. they are specificly designed to run on nvidia cards.. not ATI cards.. which is complete horse shit since ATI is what got F@H to where it is on the GPU side of folding..

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a lot of the GPU related coding actually falling on ATI and nVidia themselves to get done and optimized? In that case doesn't at least a good portion of the blame have to fall on ATI?

Well, here it is, just because nobody else has posted it yet:

Way to go [H]orde! Things have changed a lot in a short period of time and we all adapt. Nothing can sit still and, in fact, I believe a lot of us enjoy the computer hobby because there is always something new and cool. We must get more science done no matter how. Let's keep this team out front and wipe out the killer diseases. Keep folding:)

and we can all think to ourselves .."gee.. 100,000 of those points are mine .." or 200,000 , or a million .. or 60 million.. it was/is a collaborated effort ..well done team ..well done.
