Welcome oft Forum members! We at OCAU would like to be the first to congratulate you on LAST PLACE in the 2009 Chimp Challenge! For this momentous lack of achievement we present you with this trophy, the much maligned and feared monkeys paw :eek:

What Evil perhaps should have included in his post is that this afternoon Au time the folk from CPC & Bit Tech passed the 20 million to officially take 7th place. I'm sure you'd agree that's a damn fine effort to have ground out those points over nearly 8 weeks when the winners finished in only a few days.

I have to say I'm in similar awe of Alan2308 who seems determined to drag the [H]orde's sorry ass over the line single handed .... that is true dedication to the cause.

Ah.....scheech :eek:, it surely do remind me of the old truthful "the winners keep on a' winning and even OCAU wins sometimes (err.., I mean loosers win sometime ) :p

Ya know, where I come from "talk is cheap and bragging is even cheaper" ;)

Whose the numero uno of the whole freakin' folding world (the mighty [H]orde :D) I'm not implying in the least the "Chump Challenge" is not important (er..., I mean "Chimp Challenge") I have always looked at the CC as a battle in the never ending research for cures against disease, not the magic cure all :rolleyes:
 
all i have to say is bite me... and pay my electrical bill for the next CC and i might actually give a crap and put some effort into dealing with the stupid smp clients.. until then i dont care..
 
It truly was a great effort to come last.

I never thought i would see the day when the infamous lay down and accepted defeat with open arms.

How the times have changed.
 
Props to Alan and whoever else is still producing for [H]ardlyMovingChimp. They still hold the [H] ethos and still have my respect.

thats why I fold, not for the glory of winning some no name challenge

I cant say why you fold, thats something everyone needs to answer for themselves, but its pretty aparent with how you talk

the sad truth is.. id have to agree to leaving us off the list for the next CC.. its not just ocau coming in and being the annoying pricks they are.. but theres also a lot of hatred for the CC within the team..it just starts to much crap within the team.. i dont know why.. but it does.. even if we had another i probably wouldnt do it this time.. im not going to spend another 500 bucks on electricity just to run a CC and not have the stats count under my name..

It's clowns like you and sirmonkey1985 that will be the death of Team33. You signed up here and you put 33 in your team number but have nfi what it is (or was) to be a [H]ard folder. My question to you is who the hell do you think YOU are?

There used to be a mutual respect between our teams. We'd drop by on each other with friendly jibes and banter (generally giving each other crap) and it was all taken in the spirit it was intended. These days though we have to deal with tards like you who care nothing for anything but your own points tally.

Dammit. Never thought I'd be old enough to be reminiscing about 'the good old days' :(

Cause MPC is going to mow us SO HARD that they don't even currently have an ETA on overtake. Why? We're outproducing them. EVGA just went from an ETA of 800 days to over 1400 days.

You know, 4 years is a longass time.

Ofcourse, if [H] has "gone soft" what does that make OCAU and their 2 mil PPD? Can't hang with the big dawgs anymore? OCAU hasn't even been competitive with [H] for years.
 
There, that's it.. The attitude that's dragging you guys down. 'the overtake is years away', roughly translated 'we don't have to try'. I've got news for you, by the time they are knocking on your door there's going to be nothing left of your team to fight them off.

If the active members graph on this page is acurate than I can see big changes that are not positive for team 33. For the most part I STRONGLY agree with what [OCAU]EvilGenius is saying, I saw what he can see in this team a long time ago its what drove me to leave and I belive its the same BS that will drive away others.

I just got back into folding last March and my micro farm is coming along nicely.

I'm sure that we will be ready next year. :)

I don't think you understand the changes that FAH have introduced. With the GPU2 clients and extra shitty SMP clients, [H] is no longer the HORDE, nor does it have to be anymore. The CPU clients are so frustratingly shitty that I know of a lot of people on this team who are purposefully not running FAH and instead doing other projects in the name of [H]. Just check out the DC vault thread....

Whoopidy shit, EvilGenius thinks hes some prophet by predicting the downfall of HardOCP. Maybe he should worry about his own team and their inevitable trip to 3-5th place. As far as I can tell, [H] is staying right where they are, FIRST.

For all the talk about the team being in first place, there wasn't the support for our mascot in this competition as I would have expected. It was an chance to show the folding world that we are the [H]orde. Instead people where worried that they would lose their place to others if they switched over the fold for the APE.

We sure didn't act like the [H]orde of old. :(

I pulled my boxen off the APE 2 weeks ago, the burden was to large to carry.

I just fold cause it's worth it. If you aren't [H] then move on and quit spouting how you just had to leave the [H]. I call BS. Either folding is important or it's not. To me it's important and I could care less if the [H] or this forum fall apart. I don't see a reason to bad mouth any team, but I can see some have sour grapes for the [H].
 
Honestly who gives a shit about the CC....i thought it was just suppose to be a fun competition...but aparently people like [OCAU]EvilGenius think that its the end all be all.

Well I got news for ya d00d...people around here dont get so emotionally attached to a game.

Some above noted that some people dont even do FAH anymore because of the shitty CPU clients
Perfect example...FLECOM up until just the other day had more points than anyone and he hasnt been running his cpu client for FAH for a very long time.
Plus people run plenty of other projects instead.

Just remember its just a game
And were here to fold for the CURE...not points, personal braggin rights and especially not some game.

As this was my first year doing anything for CC, I have to ask us here at [H], was your attitude the same last year when [H] won? Were we all "It's just a game, we're still number one overall"? I'm honestly asking, because I don't know.

However, put yourself in OCAU's shoes. Last year, [H] was probably the same way towards them that they are towards us. IMHO it's downright pathetic how much of a sore loser we here at [H] are. I love you guys, and love the beer and tamales, but come on. Show some love for the team you're supposed to love, throw the same corn filled shitballs back at them that they throw at us. I, for one, pinched a healthy loaf off on EvilGenius' pillow. :D

There's honestly no reason for sour grapes, especially if we are all still "number one overall". IMO, that doesn't really mean much, especially when we can't band together to finish one silly challenge.

I don't have a lot of room to talk as I quit the Ape early on and went gpu only, but hey, I have my gpu, my cpu, and my laptop folding for the Ape at this very moment, because I, in the very least, want to see us finish. I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off, and helping the limping Ape to the goal.

I don't want to hear how its a wasted effort, or that we lost we should just give up, because, and frankly, I do not want to see the [H]orde go out like this.

It was one ChimpChallenge, seriously. [H] is still [H]. Personally I thought the challenge ended when a team won, so I saw no reason to continue.

I suggest you read some of the archives of past CC threads. The previous year Allen, Xil, Relic and I all gave MPC a real pile of poo on their site. This is just more of the same. Quit getting you feelings hurt so easy.

We didn't put up the points as a team, it's that simple. We get the monkey paw and poo dumped on us for a year until we can have a better showing next year. This is the tradition. I see many of the people that a saying STFU have low year counts. Before you get all up in arms, you might want to look at the people who have been doing this for a while and seeing how they react.

One of the main reasons to win the CC is gloating rights.

Then rather than going with the archaic "let's all go and switch over to one username" BS, let's just say teamm 33 is at 2 billion whatever points on noon, May 5th, and have to be at 2 billion whatever + 20 million to finish. That would take care of a lot of the whining, the need to switch clients, whatever it is that people found too hard to do. Seems to work just fine over on WCG, the redheaded stepchild project of the [H]orde. I personally didn't give a rip once the winning team had first place wrapped up, and took my system down for maintenance - but guess what? When I reinstalled XP after the CC, the team on my clients is still 33 - not giving a shit about a single challenge and not having "team spirit" (rah rah) are mutually exclusive in my book.

Or put it this way - Some of us young upstarts were reprimanded by the old timers (as you reprimanded me, and that's funny as we're the same age, but I digress) for challenging those we saw not participating to step up to the plate, then we're going to get our balls busted for not having enough team spirit? I got better things to do with my time - as Shlomo said, look at what a dozen or so "team players" have done over on the vault, and we're so far out of first place on every project not named F@H that it has NOTHING to do with personal glory, but the desire, in the end, to see the [H] logo above as many other names as we can!


And to wrap it up, CLIFFS!

- [H] is still #1, go suck it until we're not.

- I see plenty of team spirit around here, no matter how hard the trolls from down under try.

- And we're still #1 in the world.

- It was single challenge FOR FUN, and ITS OVER - let's just let it go...

- Oh, and did I mention that we're still #1? :D Nuff said.

- And last, [H]ard Commandos kick ass! (you know who you are, thanks to Shlomo for the props...) :cool:

I invite you to read through the DC vault thread. There is the true competitive spirit

The "true spirit" if you will hasn't gone anywhere. BTW, what is the "true spirit" anyways? The true spirit is to fold for the science, and the CC isn't that. Spending hours at a time to switch boxen does not finish more work units, it does not help the cause, its just a competition between a few select forums.
