How do i delete everything on my hard drive but my operating system? I feel like its obvious.. i just cant pinpoint it :p, ive deleted entire hard drives, but never keeping the OS..

Well if you had Windows 7 you could do this. It has a built in option, you drop in the dvd and it reverts back to the original installation state. Vista also has a feature like this. Press F8 on boot and choose Windows Complete PC Restore and since you don't have backups it will want you to insert your dvd and it should set everything back to just windows without going through the installation process. I bet this feature takes as long to complete as just formatting and reinstall.

Add/remove programs... plus a ton of other shit. Best bet, format the disk and reinstall Windows, Service packs, and drivers. Good luck....

This thread is so full of fail...

how? i had the intention of dual booting xp and ubuntu just so i could use ventrilo on xp, found out its possible to hax and janx lol to get ventrilo working on linux.. so i formatted.. and installed ubuntu :) (good decision)

As long as your feel linux is a better solution for you, then congrats.

I think going from Windows to Linux is a shock as everyone reading the OP thought you wanted to go back to a clean install of Windows. ;)
