Just got a bfg gtx260 oc for 124.99!!! At bestbuy...on clearance, not advertised

my damn local store still has them but @ 199.99. They have it in upstock too. No price tag or anything.

What originally happened was it was on sale for 157.99 (someone found them for as little as 149.99 last tuesday). So Tuesday I bought it and saved it so I could rebuy it with gift cards after my birthday this Tuesday, so I took it back Saturday and when I rebought it...it was 124.99 and I laughed and laughed all the way home. :)

So this thread is really a bit misleading then, no offense.
Just called my store and its 224.99 :-(

thread says ymmv (roughly means it may vary store by store). They are in store marked down because its being phased out and on clearance. If they arent scanning it or looking at the clearance tag they could also be telling you wrong in store. I have recently been introduced to the best buy world of clearance items I knew nothing about because the web site doesnt show it.

Also, Ill gladly scan the receipt if anyone wants to see it. Its possible they would price match vs other Best buy stores?

I meant the 124.99, it should have been 149.99 YMMV but that fine anyway as my local store, as usual, do not follow the pack for clearance items...I always have to drive over an hour to the store that does it but they dont have it in stock.
Bummer

Well I hope one day you get a hella deal for all your driving ;-)

Ive got 3 stores within about 5 miles in each direction which is probably one of a handful of good reasons to live in Ohio.

Anybody have exact clocks on this? Core appears to be 590 but I'd like shader too.

I have a 9800 GTX, my principle problem with it is the 512MB RAM is a bit dated. So even though this 192 core 260 wont be much faster, it might be worth it for the increased RAM. Considering I could probably ebay my 9800 for 70, I could swing the upgrade for like 70 after tax which isnt too bad.

Probably not worth it though with all the 4890 deals for 160-70 coming along. I just worry about the VRM issue with those :( (even though I know it's said to never effect games, it's just something that would bother me knowing it's there).

Edit: To answer my own question, googling the part number reveals it's clocked at 590/1296 versus 576/1242 standard. So mild overclock.

Doesnt seem like it would be much upgrade on my 9800 at all. Would have around 13% more shader power only (the biggest stat I look at). Would have more ROP's/BW/RAM, but actually less texture. But again the main thing I want is more RAM..

lol your thoughts are outloud which is ok. Even though im hardcore nvidia, the cheap 4890's are probably whats best for you.

Mind you these (almost all) 260's can overclock like a mofo.

Uhhhhh...riva tuner is saying this thing is a 216 core!

Any other program I should use to verify?

There's one at 45minutes that some times has the deals but hardly anything in stock.
I did found three 26" LCD on sale and bought them selling them for a nice profit once. :D

$210 ($249 on box) Oxnard, CA

None in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria stores.

bummer

Of note, my coworker just got the PNY version at best buy for 149 (last I saw it was 199 in store but must have went down too)

This is at the toledo ohio area stores btw.

found a BFG 260 at a local best buy for $124.99 (didn't buy it). i also priced checked the PNY 260 and it came up at $229.99. i know posts like this hold little meaning considering clearance prices vary by store, but if nothing else it lets people know the deals are out there.

Im glad to know that I am not on crack ;-) Atleast it supports my statements.

oh we believe you, its just the item is so YMMV. When items are clearance because they no longer carry them its going to be at the store's manager discretion of what he/she wants to sell them for. It just sucks bad that my store are full of a-holes. I had so many bad experience with them.

anybody know why BB is clearing these cards out?

not going to carry BFG products anymore?
not going to carry GTX 260 or 285 cards anymore?
making room for nvidia's next GPU product line?

Can someone PM who live where there are some GTX260 available for $125 that might be able to buy and ship them to SoCal?

Spokane, WA (valley store) - none in stock
Coeur d'Alene, ID - 1 in stock, and it's hidden behind the PNY GTS 250 cards :D
