CC deals - YMMV

Went in Saturday at the Cool Springs Galleria, TN store - not much left - some ok digital camera deals - 2 computers left in the store - one was an obvious return desktop with the video card removed - cheapo amd system - they still wanted $510 for it - passed
then they had one of those toshiba "gaming" laptops-display model - Still wanted $1180 for it, even tho they could not find its battery, charger or any other accessories... passed

They still had a ton of el cheapo inkjet printers at around $40 each...

I think they closed it Sunday...

The CC in Peoria, IL was rocking on Saturday, and a lot of the stuff was picked through (was looking for a Zune for 40% off, but the MP3 section was cleaned out), but I got:

Xbox 360 Arcade for $149
Dead Space (360) for $35
Fable II for $35.

They had some amazing monitor deals. T240HD for less than $330.

They don't even light up the "Circuit City" sign in the front of the store anymore at night, at least not for my local CC. It'll be open for 6 more weeks unless they sell out before.

My CC in Nashville (Bellevue) is closing today. A couple of weeks ago, I got a Logitech G5 gaming mouse for $35. My kids got some DS/Game Boy games for under $10.

And yesterday, I found what I really needed. I got a Cicso PLTK300 Powerline adapter kit for $60. (normally $130-$150). My cable modem and router are downstairs, and I have a 2nd computer and Dish DVR upstairs fairly close to each other. My wireless card in my 2nd computer always had a pretty weak signal (it's in a pretty solid wood armoire) and my DVR had a pretty old networking solution that dropped out from time to time. This Powerline adapter kit solved both problems, and if I ever get a Blu-Ray player or Netflix player, I can hook it up to this as well.

There isn't much left except CDs, DVDs, cables, and batteries.

Hm, I picked up some blu-rays marked $24.99 for 40% off = $14.99. This made them SLIGHTLY cheaper than amazon, with no super saver shipping wait.

They were probably the same ones Fry's has for $13.99 almost every day... ;)

that only helps if you live near a fry's. Sure you can buy online, but you'd have to buy a few dvd's before the shipping cost is negated.

With that said, the CC near me closed up today. CD/DVD dropped to 60% off. I looked around, but there wasn't anything worth getting. I guess I could have bought the Belkin KVM (with sound) for for 22 bucks, but don't need it right now, and I saw it for 30 online, so no sale.

Went by after work, there was nothing left. Lots of people with trucks hauling anything and everything out of there.

I have to say, I bought a bunch of CDs over the weekend. For 5 bucks, I couldn't go wrong.

Stopped into Nashua, NH last weekend...

Tons of crap left... no deals. Most of it was more expensive than if you shop around.
But there was a ton of idiots snatching stuff from the shelves like it was Black Friday.

Best deal there was probably the 40% off BluRay. I'll wait for 50 or 60% before I bite.

<EDIT> Absolutely amazing how people will impulsively buy items at increased prices, just cause you slap a "Going out of Business" sign in the window. LMFAO
Maybe CC should have just hung the signs before going Chapter 7 :p

games are now 50% off. But not many good ones left at my local cc. No Call of Duty 4 or WAW. However plenty of Fallout 3 collector's edition and Crysis, I think I'll wait for 60~70% off on that one.

I might look at some el cheapo headphones for voice communication and using Dragon Naturally Speaking. The CC had a plantronics 5.1 headphone / mike for $99 at 20% off weeks ago. Maybe it is less so it will be less than $50 if it's still there.

Also was interested in some LG lcd 24" monitors. Maybe they will be below $250 now.

I just got back from my local CC(North Hills of Pittsburgh, McKnight road). I decided to pick up a Dlink DGL-4500 for $99, a Microsoft Reclusa keyboard for $39(although the tag said $45) and Call of Duty World at War for $25.

I feel like I did pretty good at those prices. My old Microsoft Wireless-g router sucked, it worked but needed a reset at least once a week and it could not get me my full bandwidth(with MS, most I could do was 8mbps, with the Dlink I am now getting around 16mbps with servers close to me) so the Dlink will be nice. As for the keyboard, I was thinking of going for the G15 but I a Habu coming to me from club live so I wanted my keyboard to match with the lighting lol. I do know the G15 is better at doing macros and the screen is nice but I do not like the lighting on the rev2. Plus I have an old pci video card in my machine to run a 7" xbox screen for my system info so adding a fourth screen would be information overkill :)

Like everyone else said, either know the prices for items online before you go or have someway to look them up while there.

You did fine, the reclusa is a nice keyboard and everyone has there personal preference and I'm sure it's just as nice as any keyboard.

has anyone seen any deals on receivers or stereo speakers at any of the stores?

40% off on speakers/receivers.

They had some denons reduced from 800 something to like $480

I went to the one at rockville pike, no good computer/camera deals and they had the nice samsung HT-AS720 HTIB for ~380 but I didnt need it.

But I did saw one of there worst deal there and their math sucks

wow that is horrible math, i beat people don't even take the time to double check just see a big 40% and buys it without thinking. They probably did it on purpose no doubt..thats is so bad...can you report that? or whatever it is that needs to be done?

The only thing anyone can do is simply stop going to Circuit City stores and getting frustrated off the scams the liquidators are perpetrating. As the owners of the hardware in the stores, they can and do charge whatever they want. The only recourse is to not go there in the first place.

Their math might be stupid, but that converter box is a decent deal. If you have a $40 off government coupon, it's $2 plus tax on $42. Pretty damn cheap.

hmm I suppose but sometimes during liquidations there are actually decent deals if you wait long enough.

But it is pretty messed up that they claim its 40% off while the math doesnt show, clearly meant to drag in stupid customers who don't know math themselves.

The problem is: I've read reports that the converter coupon thing ran out of money weeks ago, not sure if that's true or not. I've got 2 of 'em sitting here in front of me and I have no clue why I even bothered to order 'em but, I got 'em, just don't know what to do with 'em as I don't even watch TV anymore really.

I just wait for a Usenet posting about 1 hour after the show airs... ;)

well, your converter coupons do expire in 90 days so use them while you can......my mom requested them earlier last year when there were no converter boxes at local stores, the coupons expired and she couldn't get new ones.

FYI, my local store had the base model Owlink FO2800 for $116. That's a SERIOUS discount from the best prices online. Even on Ebay they go for well over $200. That and some outdoor speakers were about all I could find of interest ;)

I stopped by my local CC this afternoon. There was a pretty decent crowd there. Stuff was pretty much 40-60% off. CDs/DVDs were 50% off. I bought a pair of headphones for 50% off (came out to $11.xx after tax). I'll probably stop by again in a week or so to see if CDs/DVDs are 60% or 70% off.

About a mile from the store, there was a guy advertising CC's going-out-of-business sale. Poor chap - it's really windy today and he and his large sign were fighting it. :D

They had some APC 1500 av battery backups in the CC (Augusta, GA) for $105. Amazon, sells them for $185 and you didn't have to pay for shipping. If they get any lower say 70% off I'll buy a backup for my existing Cyberpower 1500AVR.

The LCD picture frames may be a good deal later on too. It was still just 50% on over priced software utilities like Mcafee, Webroot spysweeper, Norton Antivirus/Zone Alarm typical packages. Need to wait until 80% as well.

Well....I guess there *is* still the rare find...

Just got back, and scored:

- D-Link DIR-655 IEEE 802.11n router for $65.00
(will make a good spare or a geek-gift)

- Plantronics .Audio 645 USB h/p's for $20.00 (meh deal, but needed some for the g/f)

- a NICE fixture: upright tower-style LCD stand for $40.00
(that will hold the 42" quite nicely!!)

and a couple other odd's-n-ends...

=)

Happy hunting!!

went to a local CC -- what a joke.
Actual discounts are anything from 5% off to 10% MORE!
WTF

What a load of crap

Their lense deals are pretty good now. If anyone sees a Canon EF 100mm Macro, buy it and PM me. I'll paypal you the amount + some extra for your troubles. =]

I got Conan for $6.80 and Ace Comat for $15, both for Xbox 360.

Anyone knows what soul calibur 4 is selling for for either console?

Thank you for this, I picked up a couple today.

Also of note are the Logitech Harmony 880 remotes for $71.xx :)

Thats a deal? I got l4d @ 30 the day it came out

$24.95 last weekend. :D

L4D had a 3000% (not a typo) increase in sales last week over the STEAM deal. They outsold their release.

Are these prices available online too or just in store?

When is the final close date?

I haven't been in a few weeks. Was wondering if there are any receivers left. My old Pioneer is getting 'old'.
