So now were seeing AM3 boards coming out. Anyone have an idea when we will see mATX AM3 boards?

You should follow the 790GX mATX thread for comparison. Considering that the AM2+ 790GX selection consists of 3 mATX models and only one of those is readily available in North America at the moment I wouldn't expect much in the way of AM3 anytime soon.

Yeah, it looks like you have to have sex with a girl from Asia to get a uATX 790GX board other than the DFI.

I also need a date on an AM3 mATX motherboard.

I suppose the manufacturer's are going to wait until their AM2+ inventories start running low before they ship AM3...

The OP did not mention 790GX as a requirement. If you look around there are more than a dozen 780G boards that are mATX. However, I like others posted previously, am also waiting for a mATX board that has the cooling capabilities to run the new Pll's to pair with my Qmicra case. the onboard video will not matter i just need a good layout with cooling options available. I have been looking almost daily at different manufacturing sites with nothing yet but ill keep looking:D

Yeah, wouldn't you know it! As soon as I say you would have to have sex with a girl from Asia to get a uATX 790GX board other than the DFI, the Biostar guys release the TA 790GX XE in the US.......

What, the Biostar guys want all the Asian girls for themselves?:D

I just got my RMA confirmation for the TA790 GX A2+, but no stock so I get a replacement around the same price. Should I get the XE? Decisions, decisions.

Is there any other differences from the AM2+ 790GX boards from the AM3 790GX boards besides DDR2 vs DD3?

I know the AM3 790GX will not have backwards compability with the lower AM2+ chips since they lack the DDR3 memory controller. I might as well jump on the biostar 790GX mATX board now.

AM2+ is more flexible in that it can use the older chips. Not much info yet on the XE except some at Rebelshaven.

thought i would post on some information i got from DFI emailing them. They will releasing a "powerful" mATX solution in april for AM3 with the first retail model for AM3 being DK 790FXB-M3H5. Three will be displayed next month during CeBit.

YAY! :D guess i know when i will be getting my matx board

the inquirer reported about that mATX AM3 790GX board today, no pics tho.

lets hope the two 16x lanes are not locked at 8x electrical. if i use one high end card i want all 16x bandwidth.

OT-Nothing wrong with asian girls, it's just that MicroATX 790GX Mobos are slow to release in the US. You have to get a nice Japanese girl pick you one up in Ahikibara in Tokyo. This is an older thread (way off topic now) and I love Asian girls but I hate to be the last to a Lanparty with my low profile machine.

Hmmm... why Japanese? Wouldn't it be Taiwanese if we wanted to get some mATX AM3 boards?

I like Chinese girls even better! Ahikibara seems to get the new releasesfirst, but they probaly have asector in Taipei for that stuff too.

Lol. Then all is well.

Although a heads up. It is really offensive to call a Taiwanese a Chinese. I learn the hard way....

back on topic...

newegg just got in this mATX Jetway board, the JMA3-79GDG-LF. It appears to have changed a bit since it was announced around the same time as DFI's M2RS, pics for comparison (along with the Biostar TA790GX XE):

all three have the SB750 / 790GX chipset. The Jetway website boasts DDR3 support, I will check BIOS updates for the other two to see if they can use DDR3 as well.
