We’ve shown you Guitar Hero-playing robots before. This one is in a league of its own though, boasting an accuracy number up to 98%. In the video below, it hit 99% of notes in Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” on Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. Pretty crazy.

The Cythbot is not a humanoid robot but instead a collection of components cleverly patched together to create an automated device that can read the notes flowing on a screen and play them — mimicking what a gamer would do with the game.

Also shows that even a COMPUTER's reflexes aren't fast enough to be able to push all the buttons quick enough. ;)

baseballkid007 has 100 percent accuracy, he's full combo'd every guitar hero 3 song. I only have like 30 of 70 :(

If he ditched the cylinders for solenoids he'd be able to hit the timing better. Shortening the pneumatic tubing would also help.

From the youtube comments:

From Cyth: Cannot get 100% due to 70Hz refresh rate on LCD screen. Humans compensate for the buttons jump and blur, but our cameras see all). Also we use a portable air compressor which varies 40-70 PSI which basically means a random and changing dynamic characteristic.

The purpose is to turn heads, to get attention of bored engineers at tradeshows. It pulls crowds of 50-100 cheering fans!

It also gets people talking, so technically... it works PERFECTLY!!!!

Thx - - Cythbot

I saw something like this at GraphExpo recently. It was to show off a colorometer that was reading the colors directly off the screen. I was pretty impressed, since the notes are obviously FLYING.

The design itself was a bit different from what is here, I think, but still really cool. And it worked very well.

we definitely have a bored engineer here :D

I can hear the commercial now:

$ 499.00 for a PS3

$ 59.99 for Guiter Hero

$ 5000.00 for a robot to win the game FOR you

= priceless ???

Anyone see that American Dad where they get stuck playing Simon for hours or days or something? Ha, what a great show. Stan Smith is my role model.

Funny, because like 6000 people have FC'd the song.

He'll i'm like 2% away.... and I haven't played that game in 3 months.

guitar hero is about the saddest excuse for a game EVAR! i cannot see how people get "addicted" to this crap, how people even consider GH "parties" and the fact that people willingly admit to meeting a SO or hooking up with someone at said party?

srsly...WTF?

it's not even worth picking up that sad excuse for a plastic guitar unless my BAC is breater than .20

i take it you hate karaoke also?

i dunno, its fun, i like GH3 and i also like audiosurf... they both let you "play" your music...

what kind of parties do you go to then? furries? :p:eek:

Seriously :p. Who cares about what reason people have to get together and have a good time?

only bad karaoke...which is about 98% of it...
in fact...i refused to spend any time at all in my favorite bar this year while they had a sad version of american idol karaoke going on...

as far as what kind of parties? usually those that involve alcohol, beer, liquor, beer, alcohol, food, sports, beer, mixed drinks, and general douchebaggery...if i go out to a party...i'm either there for the food, beer, or entertainment provided by other drunk people acting like morons...I.E. those that jizz all over the (insert game system of choice) when someone throws in GH or other horrible excuse for game...

occasionally ill call up a friend and go run the pong tables til we're too wasted to drive home...this doesn't happen very often though

The guitar isn't my thing either.... but drumming on Rock Band is close enough to banging on a real 5-piece kit that it is fun as hell. Maybe you need to try a different instrument, or vocals. Then again it's not for everyone, so yeah. No need to be a dick about it though. Everyone has a different idea of fun.

What? No one hooks up after a GH party? Two girlfriends of mine hooked up/met BF at a GH party.

What the shit is a Guitar Hero party?

Those actually... exist?

My god, it seems lots of people need some party help. :eek:

Oh well, different strokes, folks, etc. :p
