Free S2 gear for Warlocks and Priest in WoW NOW!

Seems like a major glitch on many servers where you can "purchase" S2 gear sets from the Quartermasters at no charge. This only applies to Warlocks and Priests.

In addition two neck pieces and one ring is available from the respective Quartermasters at no charge.

A glitch of this magnitude will require a rollback, and just in case Blizz decides that S2 gear isn't worth doing that, you may want to grab your set.

You can get it with any level character as long as you are a Warlock or Priest (Alliance or Horde).

Let's think about this ....
So you are Blizz, and you screwed up giving people access to free PvP gear that is only marginally better than AH greens (+resilience, +some more stamina). Of course Blizzard's natural reaction will be to permaban people who are just about to spend $40 on the expansion, and then $15/month thereafter for many months to come! :rolleyes:
 
Yeah if they ban for doing something the game allows, when they don't ban people who bot for 3+ months with no negatives..I'd be pissed. Since the bots, especially the PVP bots are pretty much getting honor with no effort what so ever......that's ignoring the arena team farmers/sellers (flaw in the system, like this).
 
Thanks for the tip. I play as a Mage and my brother plays as a Warlock, so I logged onto his account and got him the rest of his gear! :) I'm excited to tell him the news. If they ban him that would be stupid, since he didn't even do it! :):)

They could ban him for sharing his account info.

Blizzard MIGHT decide not to do anything retroactively about this because of the imminent release of the expansion and the gear will soon be obsolete, but I don't know...not sure I'm willing to risk it for a few pieces of gear. My own warlock is already in 5/5 arena gear (mix of season 2/3).
 
Yeah, I'm pretty sure once Blizz irons out WTF went on during this maintenance they will delete all the free gear. Its how they did it in the past. You can't honestly expect to keep it.

I don't know how they keep track of it but I'm sure all they have to do is type in a item name in the log and look at time stamps to see who got the items. You can't argue you paid for it during this time since it was free and no honor/arena points were taken even if you did have the proper points.
 
There's a note up on the logon screen about rolling restarts that'll correct the free gear issue. They'll remove any gear that has been improperly obtained.

I picked up the S2 set for my warlock, just to see what'll happen to it, lol
 
I gave up after 6pm ET last night when my server was still down.

Watched a movie with my daughter then went to bed early LOL.
 
It's getting rolled back. But it was funny watching the low lvl atls in my guild grab their s2. I passed on the gear since i already had the free stuff;)

We will be performing an urgent maintenance on all realms beginning at 4:00 AM PST. We anticipate no more than three hours of downtime. This maintenance is designed to correct a very recent issue where players were able to obtain certain PvP items without paying the intended price.

Once the maintenance concludes, players who obtained such items will notice them removed from their inventory. However. any tokens or arena/honor points spent on said gear will be appropriately refunded.

I went ahead and gemmed the "free" stuff last night with cheapo gems, maybe that will make me slip through the cracks.

But yeah, I didn't expect that we get to keep the stuff, it was still fun to participate in the frenzy to get it. ;)
 
On my lock I got the felweave set, gemmed it up with cheap green gems, and equipped it just to see two things:

the sight of my character in one full cohesive set of gear (that's never happened before)
how much crit I'd have (I've always specced affliction, never had crit gear for it)

I actually destroyed the S2 stuff about 10 minutes afterwards.
 
gear deleted, including the gemmed items, no refund on the gems
was still fun ;)
