Evga GTX 260 (with Far Cry2) $143.98, with 2 day shipping, AR

The mwave or multiwave page on ebay shows the $40.00 mail-in-rebate is applicable.

I bought the card last night, but didn't get the 10% paypal coupon to work.
I am confident everything else will work though.

Today my card shipped and I got an email from MWave which looks like any other MWave order invoice. It includes an invoice number and everything. I do not think you will have any problems getting the rebate or evga warranty with this invoice.

Edit: I also have a Mwave.com account with the same email address and it showed up in my order history.

Anyone buy the card from "techtreasure"? Sent him an email....hes unwilling to send me MIR form. I smell something fishy......

I ordered a mother board from techtreasure last week, or maybe it was a hard drive, can't remember. Either way, techtreasure is MWAVE/MULTIWAVEVIDEO. I had also ordered a part from multiwavevideo and when each one sent me a tracking number those two numbers were connected. I don't know why they have multiple ebay accounts, but they do.

Oh and I got my item just fine. It took about 5 days for UPS to deliver my stuff from CA to DC. My only complaint is that the packing peanuts that they use are horrible. They generate a ton of static electricity and they also disintegrate and cling to the items really badly. Didn't actually damage my stuff though which is good.

There are many reason's a person may have multiple ebay accounts. This is against ebay's terms and conditions, but at times ebay can and will ban accounts temporarily, when this is done, and your a powerseller, there is nothing you can do and they file an investigation on you. This could be for any number of reasons, from exp of a family member who was at one time a powerseller with over 20,000 positive feedback, you can be banned for things such as trademark violation, use of unapproved pictures, use of pictures that do not abide by powerseller rules. If someone where to dispute an order against you your account can be frozen. A frozen account can last usually 2 weeks. A ban if not serious minimum i saw was 4 weeks, most being 12 weeks. Then shortly after banned for life from ebay. Trademark violation, that means she used the name brand of the item in the ad, companies that have built a name brand don't like it when you resell their items and make money, so unfortunately if you put the brand name of an item in the ad it can get you banned. So for cases like this some people can create extra ebay accounts. if yo look online you can find this info, its actually quiet common, ebay has been treating its big seller crapier and crapier all the time.

Don't Mean to Hijack this thread though, Great deal. I really wanna do it but i will sleep on it!

I got my baby in the mail today. Packaging was average but it arrived in good shape. Invoice was not in the box but i was able to print an official invoice from mwave.com. I registered the card and ordered my copy of Far Cry 2 from EVGA. After installing and updating drivers, i have to say i love this card to death. It destroyed my 8800GTS 512 in every benchmark that i ran. Overclocked to 700/1400/1200 with no artifacts. I will start my own thread in the video card section to extensively compare this card to my 8800GTS if anyone was interested in upgrading.

Thanks
Sam

I have a question. When you order from techtreasure.....how does the invoice get to mwave.com? I have opened a new account mwave and I have an ebay account.....do you give him ur email address ur registered for on mwave's account?

Hey guys,
I had a quick question. If your using paypal to checkout to get the 25% off cashback, do you have to have enough money in your account or can you route it so that when you use paypal, it will take it from your credit card?

What happened to me was, I was looking at purchasing a vanilla gtx 260 for either the price of $259.99 or $269.99 when it was on earlier in the week. So I transferred out $290 in my papyal account from my bank account to be safe. The money takes 5 days to transfer and now the price of the card is $289.99 + shipping. I dont have enough money to purchase it through the funds already in my paypal account and time is ticking away for that mail in rebate to become handy. So can using a credit card already linked to paypal work for me and be able to get the 25% cashback?

I am a paypal noob, so I transferred the money b/c I thought thats what they wanted.

*Need feedback right away......time is dwindling.

You can use a credit card to pay for it, but it will automatically use the balance that you have in your paypal account first and then pay the rest with the credit card. Paypal doesn't really love you for using a credit card to pay, but they will let you.

Can you buy multiples? I went to the ebay page lastnight and it said only one left.

Got mine yesterday. Working fine at 630 core / 1080 memory. Decent overclock.

630 is low. Most people get 700 out of theirs. Not me though, damn it.

you can flash the bios to increase the voltage,

also memory usually goes a lot higher than 1080 w/ stock voltage.

Im on water but doing 735/1566/1300

i originally hard volt modded it but they generally gain nothing from doing so, seems like heat is the main limiter on these...

You can always pay by Credit Card. I would recommend always doing this when you can. Just remember to change your fund method every time you pay with paypal. You don't need to use up your paypal balance first.

That only happens when using a bank account as the funding source (to help prevent over-withdrawing). When choosing the payment option you can choose to pay by bank account or credit card. And you do not need to transfer the money to paypal first when you plan on using a bank account, it will do that automatically and the seller will usually ship the item once the money is cleared (3-4 days).

You can do instant transfers when you already have the money in your paypal account, or when you pay with a bank account that has a credit card setup as the backup funding source, but it is not expected of the buyer. The only benefit of paying by credit card or instant transfer is that the seller might ship the item sooner.

Well, at first I purchased the MSI gtx 260 which was factory overclocked to 620 / 1080, but it was had artifacts. It would only run semi-stable at 1030 mem but was sluggish on the desktop.

I'm not finished with this one yet and will push it farther. I was just happy that it went to the same speeds as the factory overclock of the MSI.

It's still not right that the consumer is responsible for shipping both ways on defective hardware. That cost me $22 and I still had to pay shipping for a new card.

this card dropped 3 or 4 months ago at $400. so at $143 with a free game, you have to wonder what the mark up on these cards is. how little can they sell it for and still make money for nvidia, the "manufacturer", the distributor and then the retailer?

Thats true but its not really selling for $143 on the market, normally even with rebates the lowest these are going for is around $200. And taking into account the float they are getting on rebate money and any denied rebates they are pulling in slightly more than that.

That said BOM has to be in the $100+ range for a card that complex so im sure margins are hurting.

Don't mean to hi jack this thread.

I just did the same as you listed above except, I search for 4870x2.

I order one: total $550. I got 25% ($143) cash back from MS.

Got a second 4870x2 for $407 shipped.

shit i have done a few things but when do you see the cashback? and what happens if you dont login for a really long time.. does it dissapear? i cant seem to find the 200$ in cash back i did when it first came out.. heh.. was really good deals anyway but 200$ should be worth looking into..

also cant consider this a 143$ card.. its a 200$ card that your lucky to get for anything close to 143.. i know i didnt get any 10% off and i have 3 diff ebay accounts.. also i hate evga and rebates..

If ATI hadn't finally put out competitive cards, these cards would cost much more...hell, they might not have come out at all.

Are ebay purchases eligible for EVGA step-up and full warranty coverage?

No. Not unless its purchased from a store that gives you an actual invoice, not a paypal or ebay receipt. I wouldnt expect to get a warranty.

Just a fyi if you buy from Multiwave (MWAVE) you should get an invoice.

Yes, I can attest to that. Bought it on ebay. Great service. Just create an account with mwave with the same email as ebay, so its easier for you.

yep and EVGA honors that for warranty and the Free Far Cry plus the free download of 3dmark vantage
