I just happened to be browsing Newegg this morning & saw this deal.

I was in the market for an Antec Veris Fusion 430 so I snatched one up immediatly... :cool:

The entire front panel uses one 4 pin molex and a floppy power connector. Doesn't matter what power supply you use and no adapter is required.

There's a 3 pin that comes off of the 24 pin motherboard connector. You have to buy the extender from antec for the 24 pin if you want to replace the PSU. I have that exact case and had this exact conversation with antec.

that's sooooo tempting... only thing holding me back is the drive bays. I'd need at least 3x3.5 internal bays. I've got a 40gb boot drive and 2x1TB drives in my htpc in a Ahanix MCE601 (piss poor ventilation).

One will fit behind the LCD/VFD, you'll just need 5.25 to 3.5 mounting brackets.

Do you have the Fusion Black 430 or an older version? It plugs in underneath the cd-rom bay when you take it out. That's the only thing I have to connect, no 4 floppy or molex connections to the front.
 
I have one of the older silver ones. I know mine is the original version because there is no IR receiver.

That was temporary and just for fun though...that power supply is sitting under my bed awaiting my next project (which hopefully will be soon).

Case arrived today. :D

Box was pretty beat-up - Newegg shipped it in the original retail box with no extra packing/boxing.

I was expecting the case to be damaged/scratched as there was a pretty large hole in the box, but thankfully it made it to me OK.

Now to squeeze the system in my sig into it, move it to the living room & start building gaming box.... :cool:
 
w00t! got mine as well ordered yesterday at 330pm est recieved it today by 6pm. god i love new egg. btw if one is creative enough i see anough room to mount a 4th drive above the psu .

edit: confirmed 4th hdd resting above psu loose upside down with peice of the packing foam to keep the drive silent

Keep in mind that the picture for the Sythe is kinda deceiving. It's not THAT tiny, its just wider and shorter than most heatsink coolers, so keep that in mind =)
 
UPS tried to deliver mine today, but I was not home... Oh well! no rush... I don't have to money to finish it now anyways...
 
Well, i REALLY wanted in on this deal. Newegg has the case and cooler bundle back in stock, but for $169.99 + shipping.

I contacted newegg over live chat and they gave me a $25 "one time" discount on the bundle.

My total was around $154.00 Not as good as the original deal, but still a good deal. This will go towards an HTPC build for my bro-in-law. He'll be happy as a lark (now, are larks really all that happy?) :rolleyes:
