I think I might pick that up as my 2nd video card if I do a 3 monitor setup.
 
The on at 89 is worthless, you can get a 9600gt for that. The one at 79 could be useful, although the 256mb 8800gt is around that price after MIR, which would blow it away.
 
I have seen the EVGA 8800GT for $99.99 (after M-I-R).
IMO, this makes the 9500GT pointless...

Nvidia price points lately have been all over the place. I'm not sure what they are doing, its like they have no sense at all of the value of the comparative cards

this card has no business being more than $49.99 msrp before any rebates as the 8600gt sells for around that. also according to tests the 9500gt doesnt really use less power even though it has the same basic specs as the 8600gt but is on a 65nm process. Nvidia has the most fucked up product line I have ever witnessed. I feel sorry for people that dont do a lot of research before buying a video card.
 
It makes you wonder if they just sit around and draw ideas out of a hat .

Sigh it's things like these that makes me embarrassed everytime I tell my friends that I own a Nvidia Gtx260.

it shouldn't, it tells people that know that your smart enough to pick out a decent card from all of Nvidia marketing bullshit.

The 8600 GT is also @ 65 nm, so it's normal that power draw is similar.

but, but, they might offer one gigabyte! (sorry I had to say it)

hopefully the market will force the pricing. but I doubt it.
 
Well the initial price of 69.99 for a dual DVI pci express video card isn't that bad. Though 49.99 would have been much nicer.
 
This pretty much IS a 8600GTS or a 8600GTS- or so. I like 8600GTS- . They should have called it that
