Vista Compliance?

I have a buddy who just warned me that his 20" Apple Cinema Display won't work with Vista. He was told it wasn't Vista compliant and therefore it wasn't *supposed* to work.

That all sounded flaky to me, but I'm not really shocked by anything anymore when it comes to content protection.

Does anybody know about this? I have a Dell 2005FPW that I'm going to try with Vista until my new BenQ monitor comes in. Should I expect to encounter any problems?

Thanks!

nop...a screen is a screen is a screen. After if you go with content protection then you might not be able to read some video.

By not being "Vista Compliant" they might be talking about not supporting HDCP or copy protection scheme, but such things have yet to be used by anyone. The movie studios have an informal agreement not to use the Image Constraint Token that causes HD movies to be downsampled over un-copy protected connections until 2010 or 2012 (I forget which). Basically, your monitor will work fine (I had been using a Dell 1800FP with it up until about 3 months ago).
