So i've read a few people suggesting to other people to put some ambient light behind your monitor. Why? curious really

I have never heard of behind the monitor, but you should have some light in the room to reduce eye strain. The brighter the monitor the more light you should have. Now any gamer or movie watcher will tell you less light is better, but it isn't better for you.

Light + Monitor = reflections so I'm guessing the reason for behind the monitor is to eliminate reflections.

Thats what i thought of, really the only reason i thought of.
Then again when your watching something like tv/monitor its bad for your eyes to have light on in front of you, if you need light find soemthign behind you to turn on.

Actually, one of the main reasons for having some light behind the monitor is so you don't "blind" your eyes when the screen brightness changes from very dark to very bright, thus reducing eye strain :)

I use ambient light behind mine:

It makes my LCD seem a lot less bright; its better on my eyes. I took this for Jolts website contest lol. :p
