So I got the chance to play and watch a lot of Burnout Paradise on the PS3 recently. Pretty damn fun game. So is there anything like it on the pc? (other than Flatout and Most Wanted)

I wish they'd make a Burnout game on PC. I think Flatout 2 is the best non-sim racing game on PC still.

Never played it, but they both bare a resemblance, Test Drive Unlimited?

Hmm looked up the wikipedia article on Test Drive Unlimited, seams more of a standard PC racer with some sim aspect to it. I'll check it out anyways.

One of the interesting and fun things with Burnout Paradise is that is a huge map/city and it's basically completely open. There isn't any invisible walls or blocks to stop you find going places or finding shortcuts.

I noticed that Burnout Paradise looks like it's running on an amped up most wanted engine.

Sadly, Alex Ward doesn't consider the PC a proper gaming platform. (Or something along those lines. He said something like, "The PC is for work, not gaming." when asked if Black was coming to the PC.)

I would friggin love Burnout for pc, They need way more racing/car games for the pc

TDU is half like that, at least it's a big, open world until you enter some events where it'll drop you into a closed track version of the same streets. Some of the events are more open but you rarely have opportunities for short cuts.
I really enjoyed TDU, untilI let my dad play it and he accidentally picked "new game" instead of "continue" and overwrote my hard-earned profile :( Bit of a dumb menu system really.
I've just bought the new car megapack though so I'll start over soon.

Flatout 1 and 2 are on steam for like 15 bucks in a package. Both are fun racing games with car destruction and stuff. They aren't quite the same level as burnout paradise with the car destruction but they are good games. Awesome for lan parties

I wonder if it's going to have that new copy protection gimmick Mass Effect PC is getting.

people are bitching way too much about that. You are use to steam right? same style of shit. deal with it. Or be an asshole and pirate the game.

I know I will be buying Burnout Paradise

If they do a respectable port, I'm looking forward to seeing this at 1920X1200 resolution, maxed out eye candy, and hopefully some nice EAX audio support. :)
