Which Memory to Get?

I'm planning on building a new rig centered around a Q9450 processor. Right now the only part I'm still a little skeptical on is the memory. Is it worth paying twice as much to get DDR2 1066 memory of DDR2 800?

Depends on if you plan on overclocking or not.

Most people say it's best to run your RAM at a 1:1 ratio with your FSB, so at stock CPU frequencies you will probably end up underclocking your memory to DDR2 667. With a quad I doubt you'll be going over 500mhz FSB, so that means you won't have much use for anything higher than DDR2 1000 if you overclock.

A good DDR2 800 kit would probably be your best bet.

3.6 with a 9 multi and 400fsb? I'd just get some good DDR2-800, plenty of 800mhz ram that can OC higher with cas 5 timings or make cas 4 timings @ 800. Check out these 2x1GB CAS 4(2.2V is the spec for these timings/speeds it says) ram kits:
Crucial Ballistix Tracer - $61 before $30 MIR (not long for $61 cuze it's a $25 IR, will go to $86 after a week or 2).
Crucial Ballistix (Non-Tracer/LED) - same $61 price and $30 MIR w/ free shipping on both but with these yellow non-tracers $61 is the normal price so it won't go anywhere.
Some slightly cheaper cas 4 ram (@ 1.9V also) is the WINTEC AMPX - $45. Or if you want lower price and don't mind cas 5(@ 1.9V) there's some Corsair XMS2 - $51 w/ free shipping atm.

Stay the fuck away from Buffalotech you don't buy it you rent it! I'm RMAing a 2nd set already

oh yeah i forgot to tell you im trying to get 2GB sticks for a 4GB set if i can
