Hi guys,

Like the title says, im wondering what the best product is for cleaning my glossy laptop screen and my LCD tv screen. I was going to use windex, but im not sure what can have a negative effect on LCD screen material (I assume its plastic?).

Thanks

Absolutely do NOT use Windex. You're wreck the screen. I use a microfiber cloth and moisten it very lightly with some warm water. I know they do sell LCD screen cleaners that I believe contain denatured alcohol but I've never used them.

When I got my 65" screen (plug) I was suggested to pick up the Monster LCD cleaning kit. Some magical juice in a spray bottle plus the blue lint-free cloth. $28

I second the monster cleaning solution, I picked some up on amazon, does an especially good job of repelling dust on the glossy displays.

The Monster product probably consists of some common chemical like alcohol (that can be had for cheap), anyone know? I need to clean my LCD (NECWMGX2) too.

i got a lcd cleaning kit from circuit city for 11.99. comes with a ton of cleaner and works great. even comes with a little squeggee with a microfiber cloth on the end. alcohol and ammonia free. its called cleanDR.

This same post/question comes up every few months. I've tried all the solutions mentioned (excepting the Windex:D), and still find the Zeiss pre-moistened lens cloths to work the best. Wall Mart sells them for $2.50 for a box of fifty in their eye glass department.

Rubbing alcohol is not ok. It has oils in it that could leave a residue on the screen.

I bought the Monster cleaning thing. The juice kinda sucks though, it leaves some residue on my screen. The blue cloth is amazing though.

I use the Monster cleaning kit as well on a glossy monitor...haven't had any problems with it...doesn't leave any residue on my screen at all for me.

It says "alcohol-free" right on my Monster bottle....
