Need some help please.

Mobo on my system toasted yesterday morning (heat issue). Athlon64 3500, Asus socket 939 SLI mobo. Swapping for similar mobo (A8N32-SLI Deluxe) in order to keep current processor. Just wondering what needs to happen before and after mounting the board, mounting processor and plugging all my goodies back in to ensure getting up and running smoothly.

You guys have always provided great help! cheers!!

What was your old board? nForce chipset or something else?

Assuming it was nVidia and you don't have RAID striping or anything like that, the swap should be reasonably easy to accomplish - just disassemble, pull the dead board, install the new board, clear CMOS, reassemble and fire it up. Normal caveats apply. You'll also want to have a CD-ROM ready with the latest chipset drivers from Asus.

Oh, and fix that heat issue.

Both boards are nforce4, and fairly similar. No RAID striping. The heat issue was related to the board istelf (chipset fan died). I'm guessing that's what caused my crash as I think the chipset cooked. Temps and fans on the cpu, HDs are good, and vid cards, power supply, etc all fans were spinning (other than chipset fan).
