A new(I think) spin on the "mouse" threads

Its an annoying repetitive sound, and I could imagine it to be fucking annoying as hell.

And no, she's not getting batshit pissed (where the fuck did I say that?) over it, she's being annoying by it and I'm trying to find a solution. You wannabe machos really need to take a good serious look at yourselves if you don't want to be playing with your wet noodle and palmela handerson all your life.

Sending her away is not a solution. Why? Because I like her. (WHAT A CONCEPT!?) and like having her in the same room so that I can talk to her, or joke with her or try and comprehend the shit she's studying.

That is the whole reason for this thread, studying requires quiet, if i kept hearing mouse clicks i would be annoyed also, but if i was on the OP's side, i would do the responsible thing and try to find a solution just as he is doing.

Seriously , i think most of the trash talker in this thread never had a serious relationship and/or are underage immature people.

If you find ANY good solution , let me know.

Here's a good solution, worrying about moue clicks = retarded. Maybe it's because this trick is so full of herself that a mouse-click bothers her....

Time to ditch said trick...

If you are willing to replace a keyboard, there are a few with built-in touchpads. Heck, you can even buy a PS/2 touchpad outright.

Most of those have software that recognizes tapping them as a mouseclick.

No good for shooters (putting it mildly!), but that should work fine for RTS or adventure games - probably MMOs - and obviously regular web surfing.

Or maybe most of us have decent senses of humor? There might be some 15 year olds in here that actually think dumping her would be the solution, but it seems like a lot of these posts are jokes. This thread couldn't possibly have been created without the OP knowing that there would be some jokes made, could it?

If she can concentrate while listening to music then an MP3 player could be a possible solution at least while she's studying.

Also, telling her that finding a new silent mouse isn't as easy as you thought might get her to try and think of some ideas on her end if she isn't already.

Yea, that's a pretty unreasonable request. Hell, I used to scream while I was in the middle of a match with my girlfriend trying to sleep. She understood. It was important to me.

Hmm... A bit too far I think.

Who said she requested anything? She told me not to bother, but I know it annoys her. Her solution is to go study in the other room, which works for her, but I'd rather she stayed in the same room as me. Interesting set of priorities you people have.

Yes, my gaming is important to me, but nowhere near as important as her. And I don't find it unreasonable at all to want to have a decent environment to study. I honestly believe many people in this thread aren't kidding, the wife beating ones are joking, but there are also many serious replies where people freak out. I honestly believe that many here believe that their gaming is more important than their significant other. That makes me a sad sad monkey.

I admit that I didn't read the original post -- instead I read just this page and jumped on the bandwagon along with the previous posters. That being said I do have some reflection.

1) A mouse click is a mouse click. It's something people do while they use the computer. If your girlfriend is annoyed that much at such a noise, will it be ok if your chair squeaks? What if you have to cough, sneeze, or yawn? Education is a great thing and wanting to create a productive environment for your loved one is commendable, but if she can't deal with a mouse click, then I think she should identify her own needs and relocate accordingly.

2) I can't imagine a mouse designed for silence to be worth using in a game. The budget optical mice fidget and jump in general computer use. This point has already been made, so I'll leave it at that. Good luck!

trick!?

wtf?

Makes it sound like I picked up a prostitute or something... LOL.

The chair doesn't squeak on a regular basis, nor do I yawn, fart, burp or otherwise make repetitive noises. Have you played medieval 2 total war? How often do you spam the damn mouse? An awful lot.

The problem isn't a sneeze or cough. Its a repetitive sound that is the issue, like water dripping on your head, it will make you go mad sooner or later. The OP is simply stepping up to the plate to resolve this before it starts something more. I commend him for it personally
