I thought I heard SLi wont work until a later patch.
There is an uber patch coming for SLI according to Cervat
The patch is suppose to further increase the SLI frame boost.
I have SLI operating in XP 32 bit with settings as high as they can go at 1920x1200, my frames are about 40 on average and the game is way smoother than the DEMO. I'm almost done, very fun game.
I tried the same thing in Vista 64 bit and it runs like dog-shit, same settings and the resolution lowered to 1650x1080. The frames are about 20-24 at best, looks nice but its like everything is in slow motion. So much for "games for Vista" or whatever. I dont think SLI is enabled in V64.
I'm contemplating reloading Vista 32 bit and seeing if things run better.
The only game so far that has run like it was supposed to in Vista 64 bit has been Half-Life2, Episode 2.
I'll give that a shot. After all the fun from Vista x64, bad ram, and other good times...well...I needed a break.
What kind of framerates do you get w/ the tweaks @ 1680 Syn?
in XP the best settings you can get are high, in vista, very high becomes an option and with a 8800 gtx mine defaults to very high and feels like a slideshow until I drop down some settings.
Not true...you can enable very high settings through the console or through config files using XP.
I can't get it to give me Very High settings in xp but I get them in Vista. Very high turns into a slide show
Quite true......you can tweak XP via individual console adjustments to almost match very high, but at what performance hit?
I tried Vista's very high settings with my 8800GTX in SLI and I got 3(three) frames per second......it made me laugh........

Games don't "support" SLI, SLI is a game independent technology that works with all 3d Applications at a driver level. The Nvidia drivers support SLI but the performance is terrible, more or less on par with a single GPU, but upon the release of the full game there was a beta release which sorts out SLI performance to be much closer to what you'd typically expect.
Game developers can do additional work to improve the engines performance while running on multiple GPU's and on this note, the Crysis devs are working on SLI in their first patch which should provide better performance that what we currently have.
i am currently waiting for sli to work correctly so i can pick up another 8800gtx.
driver cleaner fixed the sli problem...I'm seeing 40%-50% improvement, tho it'd be nice to have more.
