Crysis full version: does it support SLI ?

it's supposed to, both IGN reviews (NA & EU sites) both mention SLI'd 8800 cards, so I'm assuming SLI is enabled

The new beta drivers give a very large boost from SLI, so yes.

Shit, I would hope so, otherwise the guys with 30" mons (hell the guys at 1080) and twin 8-series cards would not be pleased in the least. :p

Driver 169.09 (Latest Beta) supports SLI for Crysis.

The patch supposedly also builds on the drivers to increase frame rates.

Does the SLI Visual Indicator work in Crysis or is my SLI just not working? I'm guessing latter because turning SLI on/off results in the same framerate.

Running 169.09 Beta on XP64.

for those who got the beta's to work...

can you please say which beta's, and which OS you are using...thanks :D

con_restricted 0

r_multigpu 1

if sli is working in crysis r_multigpu is auto set to 2, so type r_multigpu and hit enter it should be on 2 already.

If I change in game between 0 and 1(2) I get anywhere from 5-10fps change, this is on the demo anyway. I spent all my change on this setup now I aint got no money for crysis lmao.

Well, I got SLI working running the 32-bit executable under Windows XP 64-bit, but nothing with the 64-bit executable. I've added a profile with nhancer, etc.. the second card temp never rises a degree, no indicator, etc...

Anyone have SLI working under XP 64?

all control panel options left default

3.0Ghz C2D
2GB 800Mhz
BFG 8800 GT OC SLI

XP Pro x86
Nvidia 169.09

1680 x 1050
"Tweaked" Very High
GPU Benchmark

SLI disabled - 20 FPS
SLI enabled - 29 FPS

EDIT: driver cleaner is my friend

After I got SLI working in 32-bit I did the "Very High Tweaks" and it didn't break anything. I managed to get SLI working in 32-bit mode by re-downloading and re-installing the 169.09 driver again, after I already had it installed.

Still no 64-bit SLI. I give up.

I'll give that a shot. After all the fun from Vista x64, bad ram, and other good times...well...I needed a break.

What kind of framerates do you get w/ the tweaks @ 1680 Syn?

I'm curious to know if anyone has any details for the upcoming Crysis patch.

I have SLI operating in XP 32 bit with settings as high as they can go at 1920x1200, my frames are about 40 on average and the game is way smoother than the DEMO. I'm almost done, very fun game.

I tried the same thing in Vista 64 bit and it runs like dog-shit, same settings and the resolution lowered to 1650x1080. The frames are about 20-24 at best, looks nice but its like everything is in slow motion. So much for "games for Vista" or whatever. I dont think SLI is enabled in V64.
I'm contemplating reloading Vista 32 bit and seeing if things run better.

The only game so far that has run like it was supposed to inVista 64 bit has been Half-Life2, Episode 2.

I can't get SLI to run on my XP 32 bit or my Vista 64bit. I got the latest beta drivers 169.09 and I still get a max of about 30fps in 32bit xp and 18 - 25fps in vista 64. Also it crashes offten in Vista 64 with DX10 enabled. I run mine at medium to high with 4x AA and it never really makes a difference to frame rate with AA enabled or not. My res is 1920 x 1080 and the only game I get to run supper smooth on vista 64bit is Race 07. I will try re downloading and installing the beta drivers again right now.

I haven't run the benchmark with the tweaks and 32-bit SLI yet, but in normal gameplay I average around 25 in the first huge island level. I really depended on what direction I was looking. This is with post-processing at medium to shut off motion blur. With it on, I'd turn around and drop from 30 to 12 until it caught up.

in XP the best settings you can get are high, in vista, very high becomes an option and with a 8800 gtx mine defaults to very high and feels like a slideshow until I drop down some settings.

Not true...you can enable very high settings through the console or through config files using XP.

I can't get it to give me Very High settings in xp but I get them in Vista. Very high turns into a slide show

Quite true......you can tweak XP via individual console adjustments to almost match very high, but at what performance hit?
I tried Vista's very high settings with my 8800GTX in SLI and I got 3(three) frames per second......it made me laugh........:D

That is insane! I wish they can optimze this game better because at high to medium it still looks better than any game I have played.

I ran the benchmark with 32-bit SLI. Here ya go:

Code:
!TimeDemo Run 0 Finished.
Play Time: 113.01s, Average FPS: 17.70
Min FPS: 6.44 at frame 1089, Max FPS: 29.85 at frame 84
    Average Tri/Sec: -7012937, Tri/Frame: -396275
    Recorded/Played Tris ratio: -2.31

The motion blur effect kills it and I noticed the floppy disc icon (indicating loading, something) was on fairly steady.

Games don't "support" SLI, SLI is a game independent technology that works with all 3d Applications at a driver level. The Nvidia drivers support SLI but the performance is terrible, more or less on par with a single GPU, but upon the release of the full game there was a beta release which sorts out SLI performance to be much closer to what you'd typically expect.

Game developers can do additional work to improve the engines performance while running on multiple GPU's and on this note, the Crysis devs are working on SLI in their first patch which should provide better performance that what we currently have.

This is my question, shouldn't this stuff been sorted out months ago. The 8800's came out to the public at the end of last year yet, they are still working on sli. They were touting this game as a system killer that needed sli to be enjoyed much more, so why didn't it ship with better performance?

i am currently waiting for sli to work correctly so i can pick up another 8800gtx.

I wish looking back I would had waited and just bought two 8800 gtx's but I like my GTS's. I get mid 20's on my set up sometime up to the 30's in fps. From what I could see when you turn off SLI it gets worse. But the game always has some errors. when I hit the ` key

Oh boy, hopefully by the time I get my new system in 20 days, this will have improved. I have on order to 8800GT's that will run in SLI on a 680i eVGA board.

crossing the fingers.....

driver cleaner fixed the sli problem...I'm seeing 40%-50% improvement, tho it'd be nice to have more. :(
