I've got an AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+ processor running on a Gigabyte M59SLI-S5 motherboard, and a Geforce 8800GTX graphics card sitting in an Antec 900 case with an extra 120mm case fan(the only extra fan slot on an Antec 900). I run an average of 50 C on my Geforce 8800 GTX. But my proc runs at 38/30 C normally(per core). Is this normal? I realize most of the cooling is towards the lower section of the case, but with all the fans running at max(including the 8800 GTX) that seems high, even for a pure air cooling system. Any thoughts? I moved the hard drives down to the bottom drive bay based on the length of the 8800 GTX, and the bottom fan is blocked by my horrible cabling job. I don't have any problems with the system, but the temp ratings, based on CoreTemp, seem really high.

Any thoughts?

Pretty normal. Definitely nothing to worry about. Mine runs at between 32-40 with a Zalman 9700 at its lowest fan speed

with a TT silent boost mine is running around 45c idle. Using PcWizard or CoreTemp to see actually die temps though, the max i saw with SuperPi running 32m the cores never got over 54c. This is in a room that was approx 78F or 26c. This is a build i just did for someone and even though the temps are not that low I am also not worried either. BTW, the actual die temp and mb readout are way different as my MB temp never showed over 50c at full load.

These temps were also after it was first turned on so the temps should settle a degree or two as well.

Unless you live in Alaska or Syberia without double glazing and heating, yes. ;) My 6000+ is currently around 37/42°C with the stock AMD cooler.

With stock cooler, and SLi 8800GTS, I average about 38 C idle, and with burn in I get about 56 load. I have artic silver on it too.
