Free High-Res Widescreen Wallpaper

Anyone looking for awesome high resolution desktop wallpaper should seriously give these guys a look. Most images come in 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios and resolutions ranging from 640 x 480 all the way to 2560 x 1600. There are even wallpapers for dual monitors, HDTVs and mobile phones as well. Oh yeah, the best part is that they are all FREE.
 
aww, their full screen 4:3 only goes to 1600x1200 :(

my IBM T210 gets no love with its 2048x1536 goodness ;)
 
looking at some of the pics they look familiar from the actual makers, i wonder if they have permission to use, or they just steal them and post them
 
MrGuvernment has a point. The picture on the right that's featured in the news post is from another website: PlasmaDesign.co.uk . But its now listed as one of their "free wallpapers". Fair use? I guess so.

And the one on the left of the drop hitting the blue water has been around forever too. First saw it on digitalblasphemy, a few years ago - but I don't know where it is originally from.
 
I've been using that site for a while now and almost always have one of their backgrounds on my desktop. There are lots of great user submitted photos which is what I prefer to use for my backgrounds....


This is the one I'm currently using. :)
 
Been going here for more than a year now. I get pretty much all the wallpapers I use from here. Couldn't be happier!
 
Thanks for the great link. I'm bored with my current wallpapers, and some of these are amazing.
 
yea i picked through all of them a while ago, and came out with 120 that I fell in mad love with :)

Yeah, I've been using them for a long time now too! Good stuff there. I like to check it out at least weekly to see what's new.
 
been going here for about 2 years and only get wallpapers from here. I think I have about 200 or so saved and use them for the slideshow wallpaper and they are just awesome. I am much more into real life wallpapers than 3d rendered ones.
 
It's not often you guys posts links like this, but it's definitely something I wouldn't mind seeing more of. Cheers for the quality WP's!

Or in some cases, no ads at all. :)
Corporate WP sites are always loaded with fail. You can't even download a damn windows skin (Style XP = huge culprit) without massive ad/bloat/mal-ware attached to it.
 
Yep, yep. These guys do wallpaper right. I stumbled on this site about a year ago when googling for widescreen wallpaper. Wouldn't you know it was the first result in the search. Interfacelift FTW! :D
 
16:9 1080p wallpapers = ftw

I have been using them on my westy and now I'll be using them on my projector in the home theater setup. ^_^

Ditto, I got hundreds of wallpapers from these guys and more. Right now I have close to 5gb of wallpapers, widescreen and standard. I have no life. *sigh*
 
great site, been using them for years and the selection is still one of the best I have found :)
