oh, provider is Verzion, which surprisingly i havent had a single problem with other than the POS modem they sent me.

DSL is the only alternative here other than Timer Warner cable which i wouldnt touch with a 10 foot pole, we had the cable TV and it sucked balls, we switched to satellite TV.

My uncle has timer Warner for everything, phone, TV, and the net, and my DSL would rape it :p

Hate to break it to you but a 768Kb/s connection is crap compared to cable and for twice the cost you could have 8 times the speed. But, more importantly, compared to many other places in the world, they are both still (way overpriced) shit. Especially considering that the telco's ripped off America for billions and never put their promised fiber networks out we were already supposed to have.

Thats America for ya.. but my connection does fine for my needs so I'm happy..though i can still run it down if i torrent :)
 
This is a lie, there is NO way she can browse at that speed without a whole cluster of computers.

I would not doubt if she is the only tester right now there are a bunch of servers in the basement, just placed there to keep out of the way of course.

I know thats what happened at Warner when I worked there, head of tech went nuts and opened it completely up at his house and ran some servers etc.

If that was available in the US, movie stuidos would go out of business.

(BTW, guys, you can get good speeds here in the US if you live inside a fiber network. FIOS gives you 20/5 for $45/month. Not as good as Japan, but close enough IMO. It's too bad that fiber network won't be done for a few more decades at least :( )
