in the wikipedia article about cisco pix it states:

The PIX 520 shares basic components, such as motherboard, chassis, NIC's, flash cards, etc, with the Cisco LocalDirector 416/420/430.

does this meen i could somehow convert the 416 into a pix 520?

how would i go about doing this?

thanks

edit: also does this thing take atx motherboards do you know, because some pix firewalls and load directors do.

the only pix firewall that ive ever seen, was from before cisco owned them, and the product name "Private Internet Xchange" was stamped on the steel plate on the front. was a 4U rackmount case, with a pentium 120, 16 megs of EDO, and 2 3com ISA cards. there was a serial card that controlled the machine.

but ive not seen one ever in a green cisco case that took a regular computer's motherboard.
