This is the stupidest thing. I buy a god damn MICROSOFT zune and try to install it onto Microsoft windows vista. But when I run the damn CD it says that my OS isn't supported and it says I need to update. (I have no updates in Windows Update). This is pathetic, Microsoft's own player won't even work with their own effing OS. Or is it because I have Vista OEM?! How the hell can I get it to work?! Does anyone else have this problem?

I had this problem, and I eventually found a Zune software installer that worked..let me see if I can figure out where I got it from

I had the same problem. I had to update the firmware in the unit and the software in Vista to make it be recognized. Got an XP machine around? That would be the easiest way: flash on XP and then get the latest Vista client.

Ok good, that was my exact thinking. Now to wait like an hour for my slow ass XP machine....:( I'll post back with results. I know how to get the latest firmware, but how do you get the latest software?

When I run that software, it says no update found and then it just has a close button, no next?

ummm... what are you talking about. I have Vista and the Zune software works great. What version of Vista is it and is it 32/64 bit?
