Man, I'm so bored of WoW

I have one big gripe though: not to sound like an old man, but is it just me or is there like a TON of little juevenile illiterate kids playing this game? And what's with the stealth Guild invites? I get people just inviting me to their guild without even saying a word to me beforehand. What's up with that?
Oh yeah, there's a TON of "juvenile illiterate kids" playing that game. If you're talking about the massive spam and nonsense in General chat, I always just did /leave 1. (assuming my General chat is 1.) If they aren't actually kids, they do infact act like it. Nobody in that game knows "mmo-etiquette".:p In other MMOs I played, people would ask before inviting to party/guild/etc.

Well...two weeks into WoW now and it is definately addicting. But overall its really just the same garbage as all the other ones...its just more refined.

best way to deal with all that is to join a guild with a mature player base (doesnt have to be necessarily the top progressing guild) that has decent amount of people (around 40-100 and yea its a lot but eventaully less then 1/3 of the guild on at the same time so dont base it during new server leveling) so there is some potential to do end games (there will always be immature people, but hopefully majority arent) and then officially leave all channels. Then u can party with guildies, talk in guild chat, vent, etc and never have to deal with ninja ginvites or having to ask questions to a bunch of people who only talk about jack bauer, david hasselhoff, and of course the never ending chuck norris.

Lol :D

You guys are right though. I have met a couple of good peeps in-game but haven't joined a guild yet. Any tips on the best method of finding a guild of 'old men' like me? :)

generally if you go to your server's forum on the wowsite, there will be a thread stickied with most of the guild websites on your server. You can skim those and see if there's anything intriguing.

My biggest gripe about the game is 70 is the exact same thing as 60 was last year. Farm mats rep to get items or keys (attunements at 60) to get into instances to get items wash repeat. Only thing keeping me playing is the arenas. I used to love Blizz for being innovative with SC and WC especially Diablo 1 and 2 but man.

I find it really sad to see all these Level70's running around with a big "L" on their head because only a loser with no woman, good job or house payment could be 70 so quick just a month after the games release ?

I mean crawl out of your Mom's Basement and see the real world for once

I cant even play the game for more than two hours at a time, get so bored, the quest's are the exact same for Level1 or Level55 which I am. And the combat is the same old hack and slash with no inovation for higher level's. Same old sh!t Level after Level, and what is the overall story or point of my existance in the game, beside collecting lame old quest's and completing them, but where are we going or ending up at the end of the day ?

So now there are Level70's running around what do they do until a possible expansion is released in 2008 and the cap is Level80, but it will be one year wait at best

I've played since the game came out and when you have equivalent of level 65 or so gear from naxx epics it doesnt take very long to kill things.. a lot of times 3-4 hits and they would die giving me 1000xp each so i was 70 in very little time and much much less then it was for me to hit 60 in the first place.

leveling is one of the most boring aspects of the game.. its cooperative gameplay in pvp or pve where the game gets actually fun and addictive... you have no idea how many different classes i have tried playing to 20 and got bored, but still play a maxed level character.

I was just annoyed that i had to start all over to start playing thru 70 and the leveling to 70 that made me stop playing... the expansion ruined the game for me. not to mention all the new balance issues.

So your saying now that your the highest level it is more fun than actually grinding it out to get there ? I thought it was the "journey not the destination"

better yet
get a beta to the Lord of the rings online
its lots of fun and it blows wow out of the water

Really?...you're probably the first person I've heard of that didn't think that LOTR-online was pretty much garbage. Good to hear someone likes it :)

Try Vanguard, you've got the system for it and they're turning it into a pretty solid game. It's still a bit rough around the edges but it's a fun game IMO. Though I wouldn't blame anyone for waiting until April, the worst bugs are mostly cleared up but not everyone is willing to put up with the rough edges.

I'm doing the EVE free trial, I am enjoying it...

Planetside has a free account system that will last atleast a couple weeks longer...

Haven't played anything non-mmo in a while. Except the Wii. The Wii is a hell of a lot of fun, great complement to a gaming PC due to the low(er) cost.

Oblivion also rocks. Seems like there is a shortage of good pc games recently. and the community also isn't as good, lots of great stuff is basicly overlooked. Red Orchestra is a great game, former ut2k3 and ut2k4 mod. It's available on steam.

I dogged WoW for the longest time because of the monthly sub but when I burned out on the Battlefield series last December (played it exclusively for about 3 years), I said what the hell and broke down. I'm glad I did because I'm having a blast with it! This is my first time playing an online RPG so everything is pretty much brand new to me and I really don't mind the questing/grinding bit. I've joined a mature guild and the high level members are really helpful. For example, I needed to run through Wailing Caverns and a 63 was more than happy to go with me.

It's rare and great that someone helps you, but I like to take a look at the empty half the cup... ask that when there are a lot of members online, and non to 2 people max out of like 120 people online will offer help, that means the others ... you get where I'm going with this. WoW has a sad community

I am in a really sad situation being Level55 NE Hunter, I am NOT high enough to explore Oultand yet and get quest's there, so I am stuck leveling up in the higher areas of Azeroth, but thing is no one is around there anymore, they are all in Outland, so it is tumble weeds and crickets where I am trying to level. My Guild says they will always come to quest with me, but they are never around my zones to help, so I am in a rut

And it is really tough to solo when your Level55 without getting killed all the time, and I am getting sick of just grinding my life away

what talents u go into? as a BM hunter u should have no problem grinding... you picked one of the easiest class to level so it could have been a lot worse.

man your at the easiest part to lvl.

Tons of quests in EPL/WPL/fellwood/winterspring/sithilus/burning steps.

QTF.... as a hemo rogue I was in the same situation as my guild rarely did grinding with me, my buddies were always on way earlier so I hit these areas. Just start knocking quests in one area down at a time and it will go fairly quickly. 55-60 was much easier then 50-55 or 40-55 for that matter.

Agreed. You should have no trouble at all. I did my 55-60 in WPL/EPL/WS and a little Silithus, but I really don't like it there.

My first toon and only one 60+ at this point was a warrior, we have really no mitigation or method of a good escape. With a hunter you should have no problems at all.

Check out www.wowwiki.com for some talent ideas. A respec might be all you need.

Dinged 70 on my shaman (enhancement spec) last night...not bad for a character I had deleted back in June. :D My warlock is at a frustrating time in his in-game life; he's level 53 (affliction.) Up until about 49 leveling him was easy-mode because I would just DoT 3-4 mobs at once and then fear. The thing that slowed me down the most was looting the bodies. I have good gear (~200 shadow damage and none of it from "of shadow wrath" greens) but mob health is rapidly outpacing the amount of damage a full set of DoTs do. That's my main problem. I haven't started questing in either of the plaguelands zones yet so I know I have a lot of quests to do there...but I'm not looking forward to that zone simply because my affliction playstyle uses fear heavily and all of the undead there are gonna be a pain.

Now I need to juggle my focus among gearing up my shaman (Blizzard is making it clear that they don't want enhancement to be useful for much longer) and levelling my warlock who will probably become my main at level 70.

Oh and lets not forget the tradeskills. (Damn it why is jewelcrafting such a bitch to level to 300?)

Grats bro!

I actually have shelved my pve warrior, my biggest toon and have gone pvp. I'm leveling a rogue now. Once you go pvp you just can't go back. He isn't much yet, only 38 but I have my first mount money.

I've been running hard combat down to Blade Flurry and have now moved into Assasination to work up Malice.

Not that he's much but his name is Cardiac. Dictater is my war on Blackhand as well. Feel free to take a peak on the Armory. :)

Try respeccing demo for leveling. My warlock hit 70 almost a month ago, and I tried both Affliction and Demonology. As demo, sic your felguard, immolate-corruption-coa, life tap, then drain life. you should still be near 100% health/95% mana after your drain life. just wand until dead after that. Non-stop grinding. ;)

Im in the process of slowing trying to lvl my BE Pally. I havent really had a chance to play as of late due to school and planning a wedding but so far he is 23. I am running off of Jame's Horde Leveling guide to try and cut down the time it takes me to lvl him. Hopefully he will be 60 soon as my guild is in desperate need of healers atm. Phoenixdown on Medivh or my Rogue Kenshi on Medivh. Check em out if you want :D

I had absolutely no problem leveling my my warlock alt to 70 as affliction with pure shit gear (he hit 60 right before the expansion was released). You're doing something wrong.

just get your lock high enough for the outlands. iLevel jump from mid 60s to mid 90s

There are currently NO RPG's that I find to have nearly as much replay value as the FPS's I play.

Yea I totally agree, there does seem to be a dearth of good games.... I haven't really been interested in a new game since hl2/doom3. It seems like newer games are just rehashes of old ones with prettier graphics...This especially holds true for rpg/mmorpg/fps... And don't get me started on the gaming community... This whole new generation that is raised with the internet have some of the worse etiquette I have seen... the future looks bleak

you think the kids growing up with the internet are bad...go to a skate park and watch as the little kids there talk tons of crap and run behind their 5 older cousins.
i hit lvl 70 about 2 weeks ago with my druid and im bored to tears with playing wow. my guild did their first run in Kara today and i was asked if i was keyed for it and i really dont care about it. almost everyone in my guild is rushing to get attuned for this and attuned for that and with all the instance runs ive been doing i shouldve been keyed with them. i really want a good game that will suck me in with its story and gameplay.
ive played oblivion, cs 1.6 and source, BF2, HL2, doom3, farcry....yea i cant wait to get off this stinking navy training command and actually do something with my life.

Hehe my tauren hunter is 55 atm and i've managed to solo/do most if not all the quests in felwood/winterspring. Probably will hit WPL/EPL as was suggested as it's sort of slow going atm just grinding with not many quests. Been leveling my warlock tho in the meantime. (Hit 68 last night, hopefully 70 in the next week or so)
Once you hit outlands it will not be hard to get better gear imho or gold. Almost doubled my health and mana just from drops and quest rewards so far for my lock. Alot of it is better than the pre-expansion stuff also.
I think the game will get better once i hit 70 tho and can do the better areas.

Aside from WoW, i've been doing the new seasons expansion pack for the sims 2. It's interesting.... :)

Have you tried Guild Wars?

Bleh.... tried GW but just couldnt get into it and dont really see why people like it so much. But then again I probably have been spoiled by WoW.

The only things that I can see on the horizon that look even somewhat immersive are The Chronicles of Spellborn and Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising. But that is it so far, I have applied for beta invites for both but nothing yet :(

If you are looking for a different, all be-it fun, FPS try downloading Gunz Online: The Duel gives me something to do when I dont feel like playing anything else I have!!!

Sounds like you haven't been involved in any real space battles yet :D

Most people just run at the first sign of anyone else near them. That or they are gatecamping pussies who are afraid to 1v1

I was cruising around low sec and 0.0 pretty much all day yesterday. Only action I saw was when I caught a hauler in low sec and ransomed him, and when I attacked some ratting carebear. I managed to survive a couple gatecamps thanks to lucky timing. Other than that it is a pretty damned slow game. I only had two people try to attack me- both like 4 year old chars in battlecruisers, no thanks. It is easy to sped 90% of your time just flying around.

I've marched two characters to rank 11/rank 14, had two accounts and 4 60s at one point, and am one of the most popular priests on my server. The game has really gone downhill since last summer.

First, the crossrealm PVP patch killed server communities and world PVP. Yeah, I had to wait an hour for a game on my priest, but I KNEW who I was playing, got on their vent, and got to know them. There was a lot of rivalry and friendship. Organized teams from Skywall almost never saw each other post-patch. We traded the long queues and control over our PVP system for having to roll with a premade 24/7, farming PUGs for honor, to even have a crack at rank 10+. My mage got to rank 14 in 2005 on two hours per night, plus daytime play on the weekends in a premade. I probably didn't put in 20 hours a week to get him there. By the end of the "grind," people were putting in 100 hours a week or more. Just insane.

Then they changed the PVP system so things could be bought with raw honor. This seemed like a good deal and it allowed casuals to get some basic gear, but all this was obsolete early in the expansion. A lot of people thought they were going to keep this gear for a long time, only to have it replaced a day after they got the expansion.

The arena system isn't really skill based; it's twitch WoW. Gear combined with the right classes is everything. Some classes are crippled in the arena, and some are excellent. And this may not be indicative of how useful the class is in other situations. It's made a mess of PVP.

Raiding has required progressively higher amounts of consumables. I used to be able to go into BWL with nothing but mana potions on my mage and priest. Then it came to flasks on tanks. Then world buffs/damage flasks/regen flasks on the raid in Naxxramas. In TBC, it's even worse; you have to farm for full consumables for the entire raid for one night of attempts. Running circles for herbs for hours is not my idea of fun. Consumables should be REQUIRED on certain people for very high end content or to make content substantially easier. They should NOT be required on every member of the raid for every night of attempts for the foreseeable future.

The 5 man content is pretty good in TBC, but there is only so much of it and the loot is nearly on par with raiding epics. The crafted epics are many times far better than anything available from even high-end rating. My priest has 3/3 of her Primal Mooncloth set and 2/2 Whitemend. Aside from a few odds and ends, I get no upgrades from raiding. Blizzard threw a bone to casual players, but their hardcore base (the guys who pony up that $15 every month without fail) is leaving for other games or just quitting cold turkey.

My account will remain active, and I'll probably run a five man every now and then and help my girlfriend who isn't 70 yet, but I won't be seriously playing WoW until a lot of the raiding /priest issues are fixed. Until then, I'm trying out Vanguard, playing my Xbox, working on my car stereo, and getting lots of sunshine.
