hi

I have a 7905 sip phone (and its fantastic!) but the UIPassword field in the phone profile is set to 0

This is a problem as I can not make any changes to the phone via the web browser unless the UIPassword field is set to 1

Does anyone know how I can change this field?

I think what I need to do is edit the profile... any one got any help on this?

I don't normally use the Cisco IP Phones with the SIP load (usually SCCP), but I believe you need to have a password set before that field will change and allow you to edit the configuration...

Also, you can always edit the configuration from the phones interface instead of using a browser...

the problem is that if the UIPassword field is set to 0 in the profile you can not set a UIPassword and so can not make any changes to the setup via the web based browser. UIPassword needs to be set to 1 in the profile but without Cisco Call Manager I can't find a way of editing this one field.

I need to chage a few settings that you can not access from the phone it self and only from the browser.

I can tell you this my home phone line is going! This Cisco kit is fantastic! The quality is better than any phone I have ever used and I have worked with £100,000 PBX system from alcatel etc, their phones are not a patch on these.

yes I have my TFTP server setup but have hit a brick wall... oh well its not the end of the world to be honest, just a bug in the default config that needs to be sorted. but when you think I got this for about £40 (just under $80 US) i can live with it.
