I'm trying to come to a conclusion on which LCD to buy for gaming, and general usage. Being that there is around 10,000+ LCD's out there that cover my question, I thought I would do a poll and see what the conclusion will be. Thank you

Well lets start with the 2 obvious questions:

1) What size LCD are you interested in?
2) What price range are you looking for?

Without either of these questions in mind, and you want a recommendation based on what is the best bang for buck, without a doubt the Westinghouse 37w3 37" 1080p Monitor, which retails for $979 @ the egg right now + $100 S/H

EDIT: Just for record, your poll choices were not posted when this reply was submitted. -Thanks-

I bought one of these Samsung 19" it is really excellent. At $249 is was a little more expensive than the low end Samsung. It is a 5 millisecond screen. Very high quality image from this one.

If you say both gaming and general purpose I would get a regular LCD like this and stay away from the wide screen ones.

I 2nd that I love my westy :)

You cannot fathom the Westy until you have one! It is incredible! I upgraded to the Westy from (2) 17" CRTs in a dual monitor setup. Now, with the Westy, I have grid lines setup - so I basically have either (4) "17 wide screens looking at me or one huge screen for gaming and fun!

I wish I had pulled the trigger months ago! I have built computers for years, and this is the best upgrade I have ever done!

My suggestion - find computer parts or other things you aren't using anymore and sell them on eBay so you can buy this beast! - You wont regret it! :D

Instead you will be wishing you did it sooner!

Good luck with your poll. The one I put up about 2 weeks ago pretty much bombed. People either ignore them or they won't just pick. They have to start asking questions or make suggestions which don't help because by that time the thread is to far down the chain for people to care. However I myself am going to make a suggestion but I hope its helpful to you since I to had been looking for a new gaming/general use lcd this past couple of weeks. :p

Im a big time gamer and been looking at lcds for a year now. Im not fimiliar with those Chimei models so I can't comment. Between the VX922 and NEC 90GX2 I've seen the 90GX2 very highly recommended in most forums, online and magazine reviews. The most common issue is the glare screen is not recommend for brightly lit rooms.

Those are older models. Some screens you may want to look at now are the Samsung 931c http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001085
and
Samsung 206bw which just came out and Maximum PC named it best budget lcd

I bought the bigger model 226bw and its been great for gaming.

Good luck with your search.

WOW, priceless post, thank you:D

Westy LVM-37W3 FTW! It's not even close people...you can't understand how incredible this thing is until you've tried it!

yea totally.

i second (or third or whatever) the vote for the 90gx2. it is the best looking 19" monitor at best buy or anywhere else ive seen, if you do not mind the Opticlear coating. I prefer a glossy screen.

I just downsized from the Westy 37w3...nothing major but it DID seem too big for everyday usage. I sit a feet away so maybe it was just me. Also at that closeness, the bigger pixel size is noticable on white backgrounds.

Right now, Im hunting for a 24 incher or I may just go crazy and get the Dell 27" :D
