Currently i am running 1GB Corsair XMS. I just ordered 2GB by Kingston (1GB sticks) to run them dual channel.

This will total with 3GB.
Will i lose in performance with this setup? I ask, because in a few months, ill just be using the 2GB, and moving the corsair back into another machine im building.

Also, ive heard that XP doesnt handle RAM well over 2GB, more info?
 
they will run in single channel.

now you just need to determine whether running dual channel (2gb) will be better than running 3gb in single channel.

Yea, well, regardless it will be running just 2GB in a little while, the 1GB currently in there will be moved to another machine.
