Any Westinghouse 42" 1080p owners in here?

Thinking of pulling the trigger at amazon.com on the Westinghouse 42 1080P set as the price is just over 1300.00,

Just wanted to see if I could get some feedback (didn't see a dedicated thread to this beast)


Does it work well with Playstation 3?

i had a 42 inch westy and upgraded to a 47 inch vizio recently. on the ps3, i had problems with the hdmi out where id get these weird sparklies and artifacts. apparently, its because of a handshaking issue between the hdmi ports and the ps3. if you set it to 720p, then the problems go away, but at 1080p, things looked like shit. for everything else, it was a great monitor. i used it for dvd, hdtv, x360, and ps3.

it was great while i had it, i just needed something bigger since i was sitting farther away in my new place. read up on it at www.avsforum.com. theres like a 300 page thread on it.

I think everything works well with PS3 over DVI. Its the handshake procedure on HDMI the ps3 sucks at.

I just bought the 47" and get it tomorrow. I'll post here. I'm pretty sure the 42" is the same hardware,

I would have considered the 47" Vizio from costco (LOVE their return policy) but I need VGA for X360 so thats that. Plus I like the westinghouse a bit better, but I think the vizio is a great deal.

47" Vizio, is that a 1080p set as well?

So if I use an HDMI to DVI I'll be all set?

Also is 1300 shipped a good price on this display?
