Hi,

I just wanted to ask what is a cheap card that will be able to run vista but do nothing else ;)

I want to sell my 7950GT before prices drop. I also want to wait for the R600 before i upgrade my card. And untill i buy my new card i need something to be able to turn on my computer. It doesnt have to play any games or do anything extensive. Just needs to run vista.

I would appreciate any input,
Thank you in advance.

Thanx.

I wish my mobo had an integrated one.

Its just that i tought vista needed alittle better cards to be able to run since it is more graphical?? That was my concern.

Several integrated graphics cores support Aero: GMA950, GMA 3000/X3000, X200/X1100/X1150, 6100/6150.

Aero Basic looks decent anyways even if you don't have 3D acceleration. You just don't get transparancy, flip 3D and animated windows effects.

The nvidia FX series and higher and ATI 9600 and higher support Aero. There are a lot of cheap cards to choose from if you're only using it temporarily.

well since he has a 7950 id say agp is out! id get a cheap pci card.. i found a 7300gt on ebay for 25 pcie

My laptop has a nvidia 440 go. You think that will run even the basic version of aero? Under the graphic index scores, one is a 1.0, and the other is 1.9. It didn't even offer me the option of turning on aero.

The 440 cannot run aero, i have the PCI version of the 440 and it will not run aero either.
