After getting confirmation my first case choice Silverstone TJ-06 will not work with the Zalman 9700 even without the wind tunnel.

So, I settled on the Antec 900. It looks like it will fit, but anybody here use the 9500/9700 with this case? The mobo I'm going to use is the Asus P5N-E.

One other question about the 900: unless my eyes fail me, it looks you you can fit an extra fan on the side vent, but do you really need it?

I have no idea if it will fit but the stock cooler of my bro's 3800+ X2 looks tiny in this case so my guess is yeah it will. Also you probably won't need a fan on the side, my brother's 7600gs sits in the low 40's on full load and mid 30's idle, so cooling is awesome with only the fans that come with it. Maybe you'll need it with 2 8800GTX's.

Yes, it fits with a lot of room to give. I just built a new rig with a Nine Hundred and 9700 last week.

Yes you can fit another fan on the side vent. I would reccomend putting it there as it will cool your video cards and other pci devices.

If you have the fans set to medium you do not need the side fan at all.
You can have all the fans set to low and then you might need the side fan.
It also depends on the video card and other pci devices you are going to install.
If it's just a sound card and a back blowing out video card you don't need it.

I have a Nine hundred with the 9500 and it fits fine.
Anywho the Nine Hundred is perfect for the P5N-E SLI board.
The P5N-E SLI's NB and SB get hot soo having the 200mm fan and the front intake 120mm fans on medium will keep you system quite cool and quiet.

The only concern I have is install HDD's. Ensure you have a magnetic philips screw driver or get a magnetizer demagnitizer tool from Homey Depot.
That's the only Negative about this case.

I have a 9700 on a 965-ds3 mobo in my 900 case. Not a problem. Also you can aim the 9700 towards the back 120mm exhaust or towards the top 200mm blowhole. Towards the top if you're planning on changing the nb cooler.

lots of room to spare .

Antec Nine Hundred, ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe, Zalman CNPS9700-Cu (aimed at 200mm top fan, since this is the only way that makes sense). Fits fine, room to spare. I was running the Thermaltake Big Typhoon, but due to the 200mm top fan, I could not mount it without pulling my board, mounting to socket, then re-installing board. The way that the socket is situated, and the mounting screws for the TT unit, were not going to work in this case. Getting good results with the Zalman, though! Opteron 165 @[email protected] idle, 105F load.
