need for speed carbon runs @ 20fps to so i dont know what the problem is..

Not sure but seems low but then, you suspect this.

I just ran 3dmark05 and got a score of 26,500.

And it looks as if you and I have close to the same specs.

8800GTX SLI'd and a 6600 running @ 3.6GHz Orthos stable

Just got 15,562 in 3dmark06

I know that doesn't help you but thought I would share since we have the same specs nearly.

That's a pretty reasonable score for 3dmark06...

It could be that SLI isn't being forced in some games... Download that "SLI load balancing bar" application, to make sure it's working properly

You don't need to download it, you just enable it.

The SLI load bar is green correct? What is it suppose to do when it's on? Does the bar stay in the middle or what? because mine was moving around in the middle then went to the top more towards the end of the fear mp demo benchmark.

pick the profile for FEAR in the nvidia control panel.

No, that doesn't enable the "Show SLI Indicator".

The SLI Load balance indicator is simple. If the bar is moving it's working correctly. Optimally the SLI bar should remain in a constant position, but that doesn't actually ever happen. If there is no movement of the bar, then SLI isn't working.
