I know these cards run hot from all I previously read, but holy crap, 75C at idle ??? I just built a comp with two in SLI for my never ending persuit to game again at 2560x1900, which by the way, FINALLY, something that can drive this monitor and oh so nicely, I'm back in the saddle baby. All the eye candy turned up as high as possible and the games look so nice. I scored 13002 on 3DMark06, and that's with my memory running at 2/3's it's rated speed, nothing overclocked yet either. But holy sizzling bacon batman, these dam things are crazy hot, I don't get it. Is the reference card cooling design that piss poor that aftermarket coolers will help this, whenever they come out that is, or are they just going to be like this unless there watercooled or something. I used NTune to spool up the fans to 100%, that helped a lot and brought them down to 59C at idle.

I did the build in a Silverstone TJ09 case, part of it's design is for cooling of video cards and the airflow to them couldn't be better. I mounted the extra two fans in the top exhausting air and all the harnesses are routed and tied so no blockage there. My processor is running at 19C and my system temp is 26C. I can't imagine where the card temps are going to go if I overclock them, it's got me concerned to say the least. Who else out there has these in SLI and what's your temps ? Are they as high as mine ?

dang thats crazy, i score the same as u with 1 single GPU overclocked ;).. But yeah they run pretty hot man.

um yeah there's something weird there. my Asus 8800GTS runs about 60C under load.

What are your load temps?

For CPU and both GPU's?

underload my GPU's are just under 80C, that's with the GPU fans at 100%. It's kinda hard to tell exactly what they are because I can't see them in real time, I'm using the recorded graph in NTune and it doesn't have very fine increments. Now the CPU is a different story, not sure yet how I'm going to see that or record it under load. I bought a Logitech G15 keyboard to go along with all this stuff, is there a way to monitor temps with it on the LCD..? I hadn't looked into doing that stuff yet as I just got the build done a couple days ago heh :)

Wow those are some pretty low temps? Are you running water cooling? And for recording your CPU temp, its real simple. You can use nvidia monitor, which can actually just export your temps after couple seconds to a text file and you can look at it later. Or you can run prime95 or some other CPU intensive program and just open whatever your current program is for monitoring the temps. Don't need to be running a game to get the CPU on full load.

39C at idle and 45 at load over here with a 8800gtx. i got my g80 adapter plate for my mcw60 today and put it all together. i have a pretty l33t water cooled system though ;) . O and the ramdac does run hot. i dunno about 90C (194F) though...i did the good old finger test and i can touch it without burning my hand...its noticeably hotter than the other sinks though. its gotta be okay though since swiftech must have tested it and they wouldnt risk a lawsuit for a bunch of broke 88000gtxs.

Nah, just a Tuniq 120 on the processor. So I got home from dinner and read these last couple posts. I downloaded Prime95 and ran both the blend and the torture test. My processor temp when I started was 20C, during both the tests it was solid at 33C. I do have Nvidia Monitor, must have been installed by some of the software after the build. So I'm doing the log thing so I can see the temps more accurately. Does running 3DMark 06 load up the GPU's pretty well or should I play like Oblivion for a bit..?
