Just got a Samsung 971P, and...

Well, I just got a Samsung Syncmaster 971P for Christmas. However, I installed it, and everything seems fine, except there is a straight black line through the center of the monitor. The line gets a bit lighter over a white background, but it is still visible. Does anyone know what might be causing this, and if so, how to get rid of it? Thanks.

Are you running the native resolution? Did you try a dvi and vga cable? It can be defective..

Yes, I am running the native resolution, and tried both cables, the same problem occured with both cables. Is this a common defection? A straight line horizontally across the center?

it has to be defective. i haven't ever heard of that happening. that's a bummer man.

If it has multiple inputs, you can see if the results are the same on each input. Otherwise, it sounds like a bad panel to me as well.
