Older non-steam versions of CS.

Does anyone know where the older beta (non-steam) versions of Counter Strike might be hanging out? My friends and I want to kick it a little old school over Christmas break.

You know, guys flopping around with the fake deaths, jumping and shooting the AWP, pull out the knife and run faster, etc.

I did not have much luck googling for it but perhaps I'm no good at it. These things have to be mirrored somewhere. They are practically history.
 
You would first need an old copy of half life 1 (which i assume you have.) Then just search for "1.5 Counter Strike Mod" and you'll get a bunch of sites with downloads to it. Then install that onto your half life 1 directory.
Counterstrike 1.5 was the last version before it was put into steam (version 1.6)
 
Yeah your gonna need the old hl1 as said and have them both patched to compatible versions. csb7 might not work with hlversion1.3 or whatever the versions are.
 
ive got back to beta 4 on one of my hard drives. dont know where i would host it at, but if you find me aplace, or dont mind a slow download then i can do it through aim or something similar.
 
After searching my hard drives i found CS beta 4, beta 5, 5.2, 6, and 7 and cs 1.5 and some of the HL updates.
 
Special.K, how big are they? I will try to hit you up tomorrow at work where my bandwidth is better. Sorry for the slow response, I didn't know the thread was still being posted to.

the m4 had a right click zoom in scope that hit rapid fire dead on with each bullet ;-)

Does anyone remember which version they stuck the ghosts into? (when you were dead, you turned into a ball of fire that could fly around) How about where you could change your name when you were dead to stuff like, "He'sOnTheRoofWithAnAWP!"
 
how do you want to transfer them?


also i think it was 3 or 4 with the ghosts in game. but i coulds be wrong, its been a while.

It's up now, but it was taking major hits due to CPL Winter.

yeah thats what im saying.. the only way to play those old versions is on LAN...

there is a CS 1.5 mod for the steam HL though.
