Only vote if you have the A03 revision!!!

Please also note if you have an original A03 or one with the A03 sticker on top of the A02 sticker (just reflashed)

Uh, there are very few who have A03 right now. I think you'll get 2-3 votes from people who actually have the monitor, any others you get are probably false. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that not many have A03 since no one even knows if component is fixed.

My A03 was made in China and manufactured June 2006. The 03 sticker is put over the original.

The following pictures can be use for testing:
Also, please make sure that your monitor is connected using DVI and not VGA.

1) First Test

Example: This picture looks like this on my A03:

2) Second Test (This is a software) http://www.dps.uk.com/freeware_DTP.htm
Examples:
a) With A03 (no banding is visible):

With A02 (the banding is clearly visible):
http://img45.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2407newmachinepl0.jpg
b) Picture comparing A02 (left) vs A03 (right) side by side
http://img53.imageshack.us/my.php?image=verticalbandinga02vsa03uu5.jpg

The black bands that you see on my A03 pictures are artifacts created by my camera.
All the pictures were taken while the monitor was in desktop mode. Intense banding is still visible in the media and gaming modes.

i understand we may not have a lot of people voting yet, but lets see how this poll progresses over time as more and more people get the A03.

This poll is meant to help people decide if buying the A03 is worth it or not to them as there are huge debates

Is it possible for the individuals who see banding on the A03 to post
1) the original picture link (I would to see if I see banding as well)
2) photography showing banding (I use imageshack to post the pictures I take)

Sometimes the banding comes from the source...

Well that and the problem is quite possibly a quality control issue. Color banding/stepping is something that can happen on any manufacturer's LCD; Dell just seems to be less picky about letting monitors with banding pass QC. Not saying that their monitors aren't more or less likely to have banding problems...but it would explain why many 2407 owners (like myself) are baffled as to why there's such a big fuss over this when we don't see banding on our own monitors in our normal usage.

Have you had a chance to test out the components on it? I understand the majority of the fuss from people are bandng, but a select few of us out there are also concerned about the component aspects as well.

Thanks in advanced

Was this on Desptop Mode?

1) I do not have any device that allows me to test the component input.
2) All the pictures are in desktop mode

i just received my 2407. made in mexico. a03. v1b20. hn208. made in october of 2006. original sticker on box and not the one covering the a03 rev one. no dead pixels and when running color test very mild banding while in desktop mode, but other modes is very noticable. i do not have any componant cables or s-video to test otherwise. i have running @ 1280x1024 @ 75mhz w/dvi. able to run @ 1920x1080, but the movies i have accumulated have a rez of 600x300 or so and don't look very well at 1900 rez so i dropped it to 1200. doesn't bother me none, but 1900 was nice and works so i'm happy.

this is my first lcd monitor and i'm loving it. i bought it for $680 and to me that is expensive. i coulda built my conroe, but i really had to get something as my 19 crt blew up on me so i had to get something so i got this one. did research on lcd's for about 6-12 months and came to the conclusion to get this one. i don't feel that i made a bad decision as i love this monitor. lol, WS in games ownz!

i don't have a camera to take pics so... also, i have no s-video components or component equipment to test those out. lol, i was gonna hook up my ps2 and play some ffxii, but wrong cables..:(

my only gripes are why have other modes ie:game and multimedia if they aren't working to par? also, monitor was really bright @ 50 so it's currently on 40. monitor is a little brighter on the left side of screen and not really noticable in desktop or games, but watching movies u can tell, but it's not distracting and i can deal with it. no ghosting (so far) in games. only games i've tried is css and guild wars. css looks GREAT @ 1680x1050 WS or whatever the rez is. out of 10 i give this monitor an 8/10. perfect would be all modes w/no banding... of course. very satisfied.

Mine 2407WFP is A03 manufactured in Czech republic.
At first i connect it via dvi cable of my previous lcd and there was some color banding
on it and also very little backlight bleeding in the top right corner.

When the DVI cable was changed to dell supplied all issues were gone.

Anyway im quite happy with this LCD.

I have a 2407 A03 with NO banding, 4 people said they have an A03 with banding, can we see some pictures, i've never seen banding on an A03 before

I've had mine for over a month and have had no banding or problems at all.

Just got my 2407 FPW in today. A03 Revision.

HN 208 panel (Dell code?)

I would say its close to perfect. No banding whatsoever. Almost perfect backlighting. Spot on colors. Beautiful Display.

It took me 4 tries to get a perfect 2005FPW. Then I had to get a replacement because all of the sudden 15-20 pixels went bad. Got a perfect one as a replacement.

The 2407.. Perfect panel first time. I'm more than happy.

Just got 2407.How do I test for banding? The 1st link is dead..
I have A03, made in Mexico..
