Any opinions or experience with this board (MSI K9N Platinum )??? I'm looking to do the "great leap forward" sometime after X-mas and since I doubt I'll be doing any SLI I'm looking at this board (AM2) . I've been recc'd an asus M2N model but thought I'd save some $$ for more ram. I want something thats stable and good for some "baby step's" in OC'ing.

Thank's

I have the msi k9n sli platinum, I know its SLI but I'm gonna guess that everything is the same anyway.

I was able to get the FSB(HTT, you know) up to 270, after 2 rounds of small FFT prime testing it failed but I that that was not enough CPU voltage. Above 274ish it wouldn't POST.

It has a nice reset BIOS button, which I havent actually had to use so far. When it fails to post you just turn off, then on again and it will say "overclock went bad etc", so you reboot again and BIOS is reset.

You can't control the NB/SB voltages, so you can't really "tweak" the mobo itself to get to a higher FSB - but for me my RAM is holding me back, so thats no concern of mine.

Can't think of any bad points really... if you have maxtor SATA drives, then get the updated chipset drivers. Thats about it really - its a nice board, although I have seen other AM2 boards get much higher FSB.
