So who will be buying one of these beasts?

Im definitely going to buy an 8800gtx at launch and maybe another one later.

step up
the one and only reason i went Nvidia

fortune would have it that I actually like the 7900GTO more then my ATI cards

I'm going to wait for the reviews. If the GTX is significantly faster than the GTS enough to warrent the extra price and length, than I'll get the GTX. Otherwise i'll go for the GTS.

Can you add a new rank?

I would like to get one, but not until they are out for a few weeks officially.
I should say I will get one, unless some bizzare thing happens to the first ones sold, bugs/errors/etc.

I prefer to wait a bit then jump into the new technology.

I still have the step up program available on one of my 7900gt's. Hopefully with the stepup program and the money i can get from the other one i will have enough. If not I think i may wait for ati's next card

One now then sort out my PSU, if SLI brings noticable performance gain's then a 2nd GTX will apply,

I want to wait till ATI's solution and retail vista are out and see which is better. No point getting bit by the early adopter tax unless your system is just creeping along this holiday season.

one 8800GTX :) im saving up im at $450 and my bday is coming in 6 days :)

Sweet deal, I have $650 saved up but don't plan to spend it all. I don't want to spend more than $600.

depends on what ATi has going on
i just want the fastest DX10 card i can get
so im going to wait for the reviews

building a new system next month,dont see a reason 2 buy 2 tho,so just 1 for me:)

I'll get a GTS. I mean, The extra inch on the GTX (supposing that's true) blocks the way I have my watercooling setup :p.

Not to mention I only game in 1440x900 And a 7900GTO would probably be enough for me ;).

Where is the "will wait to see what the r600 has to offer"?

I will say, however, that the G80 is very interesting and could end up to be my next video card purchase. Too many major unknowns to judge this right now.

I don't think I'm going to get one at all. Those power requirements look utterly ridiculous. As soon as they come out and the price of other cards drop, I'll pick up a current-gen x1900 or 7900 and skip this generation, then get a new one when video card companies realize that not everyone has a 700 watt power supply. :p

Leaning towards a step up with my 7950GT that i bought from bestbuy as a temp card. Prolly just hang on to it and save another 300$ and get a 8800GTX.

If I do move back to a desktop, it will probably be the 8600GT or similar. I don't need the current flagship card to be happy. :) I've always been happy with the price/performance of the midrange cards from nVidia since the 6600GT.

None of the options apply to me.
Same here :) I'm more than happy with my 7900GTX, and when games start to run slow I'll just buy a cheap used card and run them in SLI.

That is, till a certain game uses DX10 to greatly improve the quality/effects, which may be a while.

Don't see the need, seems a bit pointless till Vista is out IMO. I'm gonna hang and see what the refresh is like and what R600 shapes like and when Vista is out then upgrade.

Ppl are just gonna use them as 3dmark e-penis lengtheners and at the price they are gonna be, I want more for my money than that and a few more fps in FEAR/BF2.

No option apply's for me either on the choice selection. I'm personally going to wait for Vista to come out, Halo 2 for PC (DX10 Goodness) and some more games. That means I'll most likely be getting the refresh that comes out later on.

Very interested to see the reviews when it comes out though and after the price comes down a bit I might break down and get it but most likely I'll wait for the next refresh.

Not the power thing again ?
You are talking about SLI right ? Because if you're not, a single GTX should only need a good 450W PSU for the WHOLE SYSTEM. That's about the same a 7950 GX2 requires. So it's not ridiculous at all...

I'm gonna get two.. but not straight away.. most probably wait for benchmarks but also waterblocks for them.. as i hate air-cooling in my system.

Depending on what performance figures are released for the lower-end model - I plan on selling my eVGA 7900GTX and picking that model up, then one later on for SLi.

Its not possible to say yet so given the options I cant vote.
The choices are too restrictive.

I would like a DX10 card but cost is an issue.
We need to know what options are available first.

I also don't see the need. I can run Oblivion very well with my current setup, so an upgrade at this point would be solely for Crysis. I have a suspicion that Crysis will run acceptably at 1280x960 on current hardware, not max settings of course.

Maybe when there are a lot more demanding games out.

I'm going to wait for the reviews, but I will probably buy one..

If the 8800GS is 40%+ faster then X1950XTX I will get it. but I wont buy the crazy expensive one..

I also hope that the GS will have less power-connections requried to..

Pretty much me too. Although I'm going to wait a few months for some games that actually require that much power and for Vista to go get a few patches and/or SP1 under it's belt. I think a 1950 Pro would suffice until then. :)

I'll be waiting until Mid 07 to jump on these but I imagine by then it won't be x2 that I'll be looking at I'm guessing x4. I run at 1920x1080, so definitely will need the power. I can't wait to see oblivion at 60fps+ versus my lowly 15-25fps now.

Not sure yet for me....I'm waiting to see how Vista and ATI pan out. Also, I need to save up the cash because I want to do a complete system overhaul (with a DX10 card or two....) within the next year or so.

Waiting to see DX10 performance with Vista. These cards are costing too much for me and the uber graphics games tend to licks beans nowdays. So Iam waiting for the second gen of cards.

i have to wait until Feb. '07 to build a new system. Hopefully there will be lower prices/ and or better cards by then...

Waiting until DX10 and Vista is released before I consider any upgrades. More than likely I'll wait for the refreshed G80s or the next line of cards if I do decide to upgrade.
