Hi,

A guy wants my X1900XT (flashed to XTX) and some cash ($100) to swap for his XFX GeForce 7950 GX2.

Looks like a great deal to me, what you think?

Paul.

If it is worth it to get 100.00 for lowering your IQ potential, go for it.

It might lower your IQ some, but there is the benefit of having the Dual GPU. It all depends, do you have a real reason to switch to the 7950Gx2? If the ATi is pulling its weight then I don't really see the reason.

I see a reason. A $100 dollar reason. IMO, both cards are overkill unless you run super high resolutions. I say trade the cards, and buy yourself a nice pair of shoes with that $100. Everybody can use a new pair of shoes.

Yeah, I think you have that backwards. The OP would be the one paying the 100 bucks. ;)

Keep it. Easier to Crossfire than to do Quad-SLi, might get better down the road but not at the moment. And who doesn't like the sweet red ATI PCBs. :p

Yes..and if he takes it...HE, the thread starter, looses $100.00.

Back on the subject of lap dances...

You can get 10 normal lap dances, or 5 super lap dances: the choice is yours.

yea you'd be supporting his lap dance addiction :p

Keep it, theres no real reason to get the GX2 over your current card, also with the GX2 (thats if you care about the extra frames over what you are getting now) you'll have to make sure your motherboard can support or be flashed to support it.

both are great cards, i'd say its a big bother to do a switch in the first place, i doubt anyone would see an increase

OK OK time out guys :)
This went a little off topic I think :D

Well I checked the price of the GX2 here and it is 650 euros, my X1900XT now costs 339 euros. Sooo for the 80 I spend I think it will be worth it, plus I use a 24" screen and like to game at 1920*1200 so the SLI thing will be worth it.

Of course I might be totally wrong and regret the decision, in which case I will gladly share my humble pie with you all.

Get the 7950GX2 if your using a 24" monitor. Same thing I have, same reason I went with teh 7950GX2. That is my personal opinion and I refuse to bicker about small differences. The 7950GX2 will take less of an impact at that resolution.

Take it, 7950GX2 FTW ! Plus the 7950GX2 will sell better in the future or even now, X1900XT prices have already dropped to mid range prices so you will get better performance plus profit...

Shocky, a man after my own heart.
If I sold my X1900XT now I would get about 250 for it because it has been used and abused since February. This GX2 will tide me over nicely till the DX10 hardware becomes available.

Is the Nvidia PureVideo software included, or do I need to buy it seperately?

If you wanted the GX2 from the beginning why the hell did you make this thread?

I'm not actually sure, but I think you need to buy it for H.264, WMV, and MPEG-2 hardware acceleration... :(
