It may still be $40-50 over priced but if you gotta have it its still $60 cheaper then new egg. I'm thinking that with New Egg also getting the 6600 in today that we will hopefully be seeing some more show up at reasonable prices somewhere...

Right might not be comparable but it's useful. The more the merrier right? :D It's up the the user to decide what's better. I bought my 6600 from club IT, and can't say I felt too bad seeing retail the next day for $399.

I just ordered. $413 after s&h (no tax).

Damnit. I should've heeded Alex Albrecht's warning: "Never buy from TigerDirect."
When I bought it, it was supposedly "In Stock", but it's showing up as "Backordered".
 
Ya and when it says backorder, that means august 25th. I had ordered mine 2 weeks ago and they told me it wouldn't ship til today and then i called today and they said august 25th. So i cancelled and got a 6400. I dont really care about thre 4mb cache, i'm just going to OC the thing to 2.6 or 2.7 and be happy with it for $100 cheaper
 
Tiger Direct has been a place to avoid for many, many years. Even before the internet existed, when "mail order" was the term and you would call an (800) number to order stuff, they were around and they were bad.

i think we should wait a bit, maybe amd will launch a new cpu line and the prices will go down
