Nintendo Wii specs fully uncovered

I call fake on this.
1. GDDR as main system memory is somthing I don't think we will see since nintendo already singed a deal with mosys for the 1T sram.
2.
The GPU of the Wii is identical to the GC’s but it is on average 1.5X faster.
No new functions? I believe we have already seen bloom demonstrated which I don't recall the gamecube having.
3. Those bandwidth figures seem very low given what the cube had

That and the video out is the same digital connection the early model cubes had on them >_>

I'm with you, there was a video interview around E3 with ati in which a rep stated the gpu has been built ground up for the Wii. Plus in a recent interview with Retro(Metroid Prime Series), I think they mentioned the gpu having a new architecture.

I agree. And I've never even heard of that site either. I'll wait for more official news.

I'm calling fake too... why? No credible game websites have this info. Why in the hell would a little piss-on site have it as a part of a blog?... yea.. fake.

Yep, This says it all

Ars Technica commented, followed by more intelligent discussion than the "OMG WII SPECS SUKS" comments I saw over at maxconsole.

Even if these specs are true, I'm sure games will look and run just fine. I recently played Resident Evil 4 for the first time on the Gamecube and I was pretty impressed with the visuals.

I ssem to rerember that last year sometime after E3 that the CPU was supposed to be slightly slower in clockspeed than MS and Sony's offerings. Nintendo would be shooting themselves in the foot if they released a system that underpowered for what developers are wanting these days.

Well it did....

Bloom is absolutely 100% nothing special. Its like basically taking the lightmap and adding more layers to multiply the brightness (its more complicated than that, but i'm trying to simplify). Bloom doesn't need any special shader support, and has appeared in GC titles. I know Prince of Persia has bloom effects, and there are probably dozens of other games too.
