I just got a new cell phone (my first one in like 7 years) and I really want to get a few MP3s in there to use as ringtones. I called sprint (my cell phone hook-up peeps) and they said I can buy a USB-to-my-phone cable, but they don't carry software to do what I want to do. The guy did say that it's possible, though, so I need to find software to let me put an MP3 on my phone as a ringtone. Can somebody point me in the right direction for such an app (hopefully a free one, but I'm not adverse to paying a little). I have a samsung A580 if that matters (though I'd imagine such an application would support a pretty broad range of phone types).

Thanks!

i edit my mp3's with a wave editor, and send them to my phone with a bluetooth adapter

Well I don’t know of any software that will let you add ring tones to a Sprint phone like that through a PC with a data cable.

I did one ring tone for my Sprint phone using a trial of a program called xingtone. It uses you internet to send it as a multimedia message to you phones. You just have to select your carrier and I believe you are going to need the Vision service on your phone.

Man, I wish I could remember the program I used ....

Found it. Try this

Basically load an mp3 into it, snip out the portion you want, and it text messages it to you. I have the Duke Nukem theme song done by Megadeth as my ringer.:p I also have the old WCW "Wolfpack" theme for when my workout partner calls. It works pretty nicely.

Damnit, I didn't realize this thread was OLD. Fucking shit.

Try and search a bit more extensively on Howard...most things like ringtones are asked so many times over that they won't even answer you.
