Hey, i'm looking to transfer my current machine over to this case. I have bought a DFI RS482 to replace my Abit AN8 Ultra. So basically the PSU in this machine will have to cope with:

A64 3200+ Winchester oc to 2.6ghz (1.4v)
x1800xl 256mb
2gb Mushkin DDR500 (going to replace my current 1gb Corsair ram)
200gb Seagate SATA2 hdd
1 DVDRW drive (short size)

Will the PSU be able to cope with this or are there any other options?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, that PSU handles a max of 380W and has some decent volts on the two rails. I'd say that it probably would handle that system considering that you only max out your wattage around 300 or so under normal use. I don't see you using your burner extensively while gaming with all 2GB of your RAM firing away like a memtest and your CPU @ a consistent load...

the enclosure would make no difference to your psu draw, unless it has a million fans in it.

the antec should be fine, but be prepared to need to get another psu if the dfi decides to not like it. the rs482 is pretty finicky with psu's, has compatability issues with random psu's and it'll just randomly restart pretty often. the xclio 450bl is a good psu that's known to work though, just in case you end up needing a new one, it costs <$50. i think antecs are fine, not sure though, it's hit or miss.

No I meant I went with the Silverstone instead as I can use my current full size ATX PSU in it with out modding the case.

Thanks Steve. It's tough trying to decide between the two cases. Which is the smaller of the two? I'm guessing the Antec?

OOOOH, the nskblahblah is the aria lol, didn't recognize it earlier so i was confused.

the tj08 is obviously bigger, its a mini tower compared to the aria desktop cube form. if you want a good alternative thats still in that form, look at either the silverstone sg01 (make sure its the evolution model, all 80mm fans) or the micro fly.

Hehe Soymilk, the Aria cube replacement is the 1300 not the 3300 i'm looking at ;) But yeh I was considering that case too. They have the same PSU i'm guessing?
Not really interest in the SG-01 as its quite a bit more expensive here than the other two cases (Australia).

well fuck, im gonna stop now cuz i have no idea what the nsk3300 is, and im too lazy to go find out. but now im assuming its something similar looking to the tj08? lol my bad. disregard my stuff about the tj08 being bigger in that case :p

the tj08 and 3300 are close in size. I would go with the tj08, it looks oh so sexy and sleek. :D

I don't think they have the same PSU. I could be wrong, but I believe the NSK 3300 has a Seasonic 380W PSU. The NSK 1300 on the other hand, has a custom Antec 300W PSU.

You're right about the SG-01 being expensive in Australia. Not only that, but you will be hard pressed to find the SG-01 Evolution here. Most retailers sell the old model. The only one I know of who sells the newer (Evolution) model is AusPCMarket.

As long as the SG-01 continues to cost more than $200 AUD (average price of $240), I will be forced to consider the NSK 1300 (average price of $150).

They aren't that close. The TJ08 is over 1in longer and has over 1in more in depth.

close is subjective... and with the tj08 you can use a regular atx psu without hassle.

I'd say if all you need is what he listed then the NSK3300 is the way to go. The NSK3300 is going to be heavier but quieter and will cost much less. It will also easily power that system. The NSK3300 is really not for the crazy modder. It is a simply case that has a "business" look to it. Power is not a problem with the NSK3300.

If you are going for more of a modding gamers look, the silverstone could be good.
