Apparently my router is causing some problems, mainly with counter strike source...so I need a new router...has to be wireless for my laptop..any reccommendations?

Also, I plan on using my games with a wire connection but need wireless for my laptop...so the wireless router only server the purpose for my laptop while intensive stuff will be done on my desktop.

^^ what he said. There are basically two camps on the forums here:

1) If you're looking for an off-the-shelf solution grab the DLink DGL-4300 (wireless), DGL-4100 (wired-only) or Linksys RV082+ (wired-only).

2) If you have an old box laying around... turn it into a *NIX based solution using one of the many distros available.

Checked out the D-Link...sounded pretty good...slightly expensive for a yr old router though..don't you think?

It's a little pricey but then again things that perform well don't generally drop in price too much over the years. After all, why are CISCO products so expensive? Why are Intel/3Com NIC's more expensive than Realtek's? Because they perform well. :)

Keep a look out at your local shops... it's not unheard of to find the DGL-4300 for around or under $100 on-sale or AR.

Mwave has it for $117 right now: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=3634145

Just ran to best buy and picked up the D-Link Gamer and I must say you guys were right...this thing is extremely better than the belkin I bought last year...thanks a lot!
