OK, I have this case: http://3btech.net/desicocaw2fr.html

But anyways, on the Power Switch and Reset Switch plugs there is no indication of what is the Positive (+) and Negative (-) and my motherboard has specific spots for the positive and negative.

- There is however, an arrow pointing down to one of the plug sides, which I was guessing is the positive side. I just want to make sure it is...

thanks

The arrow indicates positive, However I think it will work either way.

Correct me if im wrong, but a switch just completes a circuit, and which wire goes to which end doesnt really matter, as its just a part of one wire, with a break in the middle?

are there different colors to the different leads?

i.e. red / black or white / black?

you can pretty much count on black being neg / gnd

also - if you're unsure and skittish about plugging things in backwards, just plug in your motherboard power (from PSU) and experiment with just the switch connector.

if it turns on, you've got it in the right way and you can use that to reference other connections.

this is right, there is no positive or negative in reset/power buttons. you can power up a pc wihth a screwdriver if you short the pins.

If it makes a difference, it wont turn on unless it's correctly connected.

If the little arrow is placed on the + and it works.....do it that way all the way through.

I read the other thread. IMHO you have a short. I always start a new build the way the guys outlined it......everything out of the case, connected one at a time, booted each time something is added, then in the case....wash,rinse,repeat. Foolproof, yes; timeconsuming, you bet. :D

Also....are there any extra metal standoffs or small elevations on the motherboard mount that might be touching the MB somewhere?????You know, spare screw holes and the like that may not be used. If so, put a small piece of electricians tape on that spot so it cant short the MB.

Which I used to do regularly with a system that sat on my desk with no case for quite a while. :)
