HTX

What are some big advantages to having an HTX slot? Will performance be noticably better? How does it pair up compared to current gen slots.

Trying to do a powerpoint on this for class and I couldn't find any more info I don't already have, if you could help I'd be happy.

Direct CPU interfacing could be interpreted as an advantage. Performance could be better depending on the application--for instance, very latency-sensitive applications would stand to gain from what HTX claims to offer. There aren't any hard numbers to compare, at least none that I've seen.

Sounds to me like they're trying a new spin on VLB. Hope HTX works better than that did. Of course the brochure did say "professionaly installed and configured" and that it caters to the server/high end market. So maybe it's not that bad.
