I think im gonna pick up a 360 tomorrow. What game should I get for it?

Fight Night 3
GRAW
Perfect Dark Zero
any other suggetions?

Don't really want a racing game. Got Oblivion on the PC. Looking for something that wont get old quick.

I know you said you don't want a racing game, but I've been having a great time with Burnout Revenge. I wouldn't classify it as a racing game though, it's more of a high speed destruction derby, plus it just dropped in price down to $39.99.

Perfect Dark Zero was disappointing to me, as the graphics were horrible along with subpar gameplay. My biggest complaint however, was that the save points were way too far apart, which means that if you die, you might have to replay like the last 30-45 minutes.

Fight Night 3 might get old quick, as it's a fighting game. The graphics are impressive, but it was only worth a quick borrow from a friend for me.

If you like scaring the crap out of you, and you have a good dolby 5.1 audio setup, I would recommend Condemned.

Kameo is also another surprise, as I really enjoyed it.

Ridge Racer 6 also can be a lot of fun, but I guess you don't want a racing game.

Amped 3 was a lot of fun for me

If you havn't played COD2 yet, that's still a fun treat.

GRAW is not a bad game, but I didn't like it too much since i'm a very run and gun type FPS person.

Not bad. I think that or Amped 3 would be cool. They got demos on the live marketplace too right? oh shit another question. If I payed for the xbox live subscription on my xbox can I transfer that to 360?

Online is where it's at for FNR3, don't buy the game if you aren't planning to play online.

I liked GRAW, but its also out for PC now.
I liked Perfect Dark Zero for its co-op modes, but I understand junethans points.
DOA4 if you like fighting games and eye candy.

If you want to get PDZ, look at some of the merchants selling them through their ebay stores. It usually sells for about $20-$25 new. Everyone I know who has Fight Night says it gets boring relatively quick, but is a lot of fun while it lasts. GRAW is a decent game, but just don't expect a polished shooter that you can find on the PC. Call of Duty 2 is good, if you haven't played the PC version. Table Tennis is a lot of fun. Kameo is good. Tomb Raider Legend is good but too short to warrant a $60 purchase.

If you get Amped 3, don't expect next gen graphics. While the drawing distance is impressive, and some textures are more detailed, it looks pretty outdated. It's the gameplay that makes this game fun.

My understanding is that you can transfer, but someone else will have to chime in.

Marble Blast Ultra and Geometry Wars are must have games for anyone with a 360 and Live. Also if you intend to switch an existing Live account to 360 I believe there is a good step by step guide on xbox.com to help you along.

here's a link to the migration wizard

and GRAW on the 360 is the best version of the game, in my opinion. i've played the PC and the regular XBOX version and nothing comes close.

table tennis is a good cheap(er) title that is a ton of fun.

dont underestimate the live arcade games. they're always good for some good cheap fun. geowars is a excellent example.

DOA 4 is an excellent fighting game - don't listen to the VF purists or the "I only play Soul Calibur" crowd. I've played all three, and DOA 4 compares pretty nicely. It's not the absolute best, but the counters and huge stages do a lot to give tactical complexity.

I haven't seen many reviews of Table Tennis yet, but the initial ones seem to be complimentary, especially of the online mode stuff.

I definitely have to agree with all the people chiming in about XBLA - games like Outpost Kaloki X, Geometry Wars, and Uno really add a lot of variety to the machine, and they're dirt cheap to boot.

I highly recommend Condemned. It gets under your skin in a good way. I had trouble playing it alone at night in later levels. Kameo is also a lot of fun. PDZ is decent, but nothing to get too excited about. I haven't played any recent titles since I've decided to not pay $60 for a game unless it's one I know I must have. (Halo 3, Gears of War, Too Human) I may have to try Burnout per previous recommendations. I'll pick up GRAW too once it hits $40 or under. Geometry Wars is a must. That game is so much fun and addicting. Happy gaming!

I'm not much of a racing fan either (I hate PGR), but I love the burnout games. Even if you don't like the racing aspect, the crash modes alone make the purchase worth it.

i must chime in about condemned. the game is fantastic. it will scare you to bits, but you'll love every moment of it. *shudder*

fight night 3 is a great game for 2 players. Rocking my buddy's jaw with a fierce uppercut never get old :D Single player gets old though, but that's the case with any fighting game.

Burnout Revenge is great, and yeah, it's not really racing as much as body-checking cars with your own.

You should definately get BF2 if you don't have it for PC yet. From what I understand the 360 version is missing a few features from the PC version, but there are no bugs, no server lag, always plenty of people playing, and having finally gotten around to trying GRAW, BF2 is a hell of a lot more fun, and requires just as much thought and strategy (i.e. it's not just a Quake4 style go shoot shit up game).

I think im gonna pick up Fight Night and Burnout. Look pretty slick. Ive got BF2 and GRAW on pc, even though they are different I think im gonna pass on em. Just looking for some good console fun. See you on Live.

Noone really talks about it much but I like Need for speed is more fun than even burnout. It's fun to run from the cops and the graphics really are quite good on a 42" plasma. Your best bet is to download the demo's over LIVE and try them out and see for yourself.

As far FN3. For me it's fun even without online. I'm not a boxing fan but for some reason it's quite satisfying to hit people. I find myself cracking up regularly when I knock the opponent out. I guess it's just their facial expressions. Great game. Can't wait to see what they have in store for next years version.

Can anyone chime in and tell me how good or bad Battlefield 2 is on 360 compared to the PC???

I was looking at Gamespot and they only gave it a 7.5 rating.

I loved the PC version. =/

the console version is...arcadey. the controls are simplified, to say the least. the scope of the game on the 360 is smaller as well.

I got Fight Night 3. Very cool game. Ive been downloading demos like a mad man. That Lost Planet game is gonna be sick.

The 360 version has benefits and drawbacks.

Benefits: No bugs, no server lag,no bugs, always a server availible, no bugs

Drawbacks: Less levels, no expansion packs, 360 controller instead of KB + Mouse (although the controls are _Very_ well laid out, a good player could stand easily against a kb + mouse guy using the xbox gamepad on this)

I have the 360 version and personally I think it's great. I wouldn't call it arcadey, the strategy aspect is just as important in the console version as it is in the PC. There are still plenty of levels, but as in the PC version, you mostly seem to see the same old ones coming up again after again in multiplayer games (Backstab and BridgeTooFar seem to make up 50% or more of the online games, which is a shame, because there are some much better maps).

Just got my 360 along with DOA4 and GRAW (GRAW came with the 360). Haven't played GRAW yet so will have to let you know how good it is later, however DOA4 rocks ;) It depends if you plan on playing mostly single player games or multiplayer.

I bought mine mostly for multiplayer whe my mates come round so the next game I get will probably be Fight Night Round 3. I am also seriously thinking of picking up Burnout Revenge and Madden 06.

Slightly off topic, has anyone got the Madden game for 360 and if so what do you think to it???

I have Madden for the X360, and the graphics are unbelievable. For me, it was pure bliss being able to see Rudi and Chad Johnson, and Carson Palmer in a near photorealistic image. The stadiums are also beautiful with some really good textures on the fans. The field is also really crisp. However, the graphics are where the complements end as it's just a gutted version that they had to leave features out of to release the title by launch day. I honestly can't wait for Madden 07 for the X360, as we'll get the beautiful graphics from 06, with a full feature set this time.
