Yep I got mine in and ran the standard tests for banding. Its there on DVI mode, didnt even bother to try VGA since thats worthless.

I actually thought the banding would be worse, but sitting back at my normal distance from the monitor at first I thought woot no banding. I had to lean in to notice the banding but yes its there. Then again I dont really have a "eye" for flaws in images so I guess it didnt really bother me that much.

Im not sure if I am going to keep it or not, since im afraid it might come a issue in games.

Thanks for confirming my decision not to keep my 2007WFP. I received it yesterday part of a System deal and decided to sell it before opening it and just getting a 1907FP.

I have seen this on a bunch of forums now. Everyone who checks a dell 2007 has it. This is somewhat unique to the Dell 2007. Many other monitors have been compared and are fine. This is a design defect. In that there doesn't seem to be any variability.

But if you barely notice on the gradient test, I might be inclined to keep it. Gradients generally make it as obvious as possible. Check some games with darkening skies.

Personally I am a picky bastard and would probably return it. I should say probably will, because I have ordered the non wide version 2007fp, which reportedly also has the same issue.

Edit: A comment I just saw in another forum:
"Honestly, I didn't think the issue would bother me, but I notice it in Oblivion, especially at the horizon. It's not just test images for me-- and my 2001FP doesn't have the problem."

If yours looks anything like the pics at the top of this thread then I would send it back in a heartbeat. That's ridiculous and I would never accept a monitor like that.

I have the Dell 2007 too and just got off the phone with Dell customer service about a return. I refused to pay the $20 shipping charge to return the monitor to them on the grounds that this is an inherent design flaw. They didn't argue and are paying for the return charges. DHL comes tomorrow to pick up this major disappointment of a monitor. You needn't be a graphic designer to have banding affect you, it'll crop up sooner or later in a game or website browsing. Why pay $500 for that?

My advice to those considering it: save yourself the trouble, don't buy this unless they fix it. (And even then, I'm not 100% happy with text on the 2007. The sharpness and clarity I'd expect just aren't there through DVI).
